Mama Suzy's Sweets & Eats opens her country catering kitchen
It has been a long awaited dream come true for Suzy Sauls to open up her own catering kitchen called, "Mama Suzy's Sweets & Eats " In the outskirts of north Howe on Bennett Road where it intersects with Biggerstaff Rd sits a rustic quaint kitchen on a property that suffered a horrid fire only three years ago Sauls and her husband James leased the property and began construction on her dream kitchen The process of construction may have been time consuming, but "Mama Suzy", as she's known, says it's all worth it
"My husband built it on a mobile home frame He mixed wood and steel and this is the finished product " said Sauls
At the moment, Sauls is operating her catering business from the new kitchen but hopes to have her display cases in place soon so that people can stop and shop

"I want to have my breakfast foods, cookies and breads and pies all available eventually" said Sauls
Sauls says that it may not be common for a catering kitchen to be located out of town, but sure enjoys the handiness of being able to walk from her home to the new kitchen day or night in order for an emergency catering order

The first glympse of Mama Suzy's Sweets & Eats may take you back to an earlier time From the black and white tile 1950's style floor to the antique cupboards, barn light fixtures, but you will find nothing but the latest and greatest of stainless steel refrigerating units, sinks and all other necessary kitchen items
Both Suzy and her husband have been collecting items for this opening for years but shesays she's excited because there's just enough room to put her mother's biscuit table and stool near the front of the kitchen
Sauls has been cooking and catering for 20 years, starting in Clarksville, Texas She says that most of her business comes from Sherman and McKinney at the moment but would like to see her local business grow continued on page 9
