a deep desire to know your Father in Heaven more and intimately “Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?”

Luke 6:46
“And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with your entire mind and with all your strength The second is this:
“These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me Their worship is a mockery, for they teach man-made ideas as commands from God,” Matthew 15:8-9
The 2015 Gallup Pole states that three of four Americans say they believe in God 75% of Americans believe that the Bible is in some way connected to God 28% believe that the Bible is the actual word of God and should be taken literally, word for word But 47% of Americans believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God but not to be taken literally 21% of Americans view the Bible in pure secular terms -- as ancient fables, legends, history, precept and written by man 4% had no opinion at all People value their own ideas and traditions more than they value God’s commands Don’t be misled by those who say they know the Father, but their lives tell a different story Behavior reveals whether or not someone truly knows Jesus as Lord Our behavior reveals our heart (our mind, will, and our emotions) If you say you know Jesus yet live contrary to His commands and ignore His teachings, you don’t believe in your heart that He really is who He says He is People who believe in Jesus in their hearts follow His teachings Of course you will not be sinless but the d ecisions you make will follow the teachings of Jesus You will have
‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these ” Mark 12:3031 Since Adam’s first sin all humanity has been plagued by evil Our heart is ruled by selfcenteredness and that makes it impossible to love God or others with your whole heart Your spirit is dead to true love and left without hope because you were heading to eternal separation from the God who created you No matter the fame or fortune, it is impossible for hope and true love to survive without being connected to the lifeline of Jesus Christ. The penalty for sin is death Knowing we are all sinners and no one can be perfect leaves hopelessness At Calvary, Jesus stood in your place He was sentenced for your sins and received your punishment. My sins and your sins are paid in full Our sins will not be paid later but already have been paid in full We are debt free you just have to except the gift By placing your faith in Him, all of His right standing with God is now how God sees you When you say yes to Jesus, God sees your sins through a rose colored lens. “Come now, let us reason together,’ says the Lord, ‘though your sins are scarlet, they will be as white as snow; though they are like crimson, they will be like wool,” Isaiah 1:18
The struggles of sin and its discouragements are real Satan comes to lie and steal When he cannot have your salvation into eternal life he aims to steal your joy, peace and your testimony of God’s greatness He brings a never ending trail of temptations into your path He sows seeds of doubt, anger, lust, envy, greed and pride into your mind This world is his territory so you will have to resist him each and every day My Pop owned Stewart’s Grocery in Keller, Texas when I was growing up Nanny and Pop lived in a large 3 bedroom home above the store When I was at their house it was a kid’s dream! Nanny always had all of the good stuff When I would arrive she would ask if I wanted a coke or banana split or float or giant pickle or Jiffy Pop or or or It was literally endless in my mind As I got older and was cutting back on the treats, the temptation wasn’t a dream anymore When I was at their house I had to resist because her house was fully loaded! Our life on earth will always have temptations You cannot change that because it’s not your home As a believer in Jesus Christ, Heaven is your real home so keep your focus on eternity with Him
When you mess up be quick to ask for forgiveness and move forward The majority of people in America still claim to be a Christian but as stated in the Gallup Pole, they want to have their cake and eat it too You cannot make up your own commandments and follow your own teachings without being your own god God says He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow It’s in our sinful nature, our genealogy of Adam, that we come up with a “comfortable” place to believe we aren’t that bad The Bible is the only truth that will never change Colors grow faint, fads change and this sinful home of Satan changes the honor code each and every day What God calls evil is now called good You cannot stand with the world and follow its code of ethics and be a true follower of Jesus Christ. God requires more than just saying we believe in Him He requires our mind, our free will and our emotions to be followers of Him That creates a heart of a true worshipper because our hearts have made Him Lord
