This coming year is a noncompetition year for the marching band - meaning there will be no state championed crowned Dwyer was still noticeably disappointed by being eliminated in 2015, her last attempt at a state title

"We'll still do some contests, but we can't go all the way to state, which is sad " said Dwyer

continued from page 3 cheerleading lieutenant would never have happened if she didn't overcome a severe issue with shyness

"When I was younger, I never wanted to be that person out in front of everyone " said Dwyer "It's kind of funny now because I am doing that now and have been on the cheer team I think being on the cheer team and being around those people and being in front of a crowd helped Just having that support system has been very helpful and I finally said, 'you know what, I always thought drum major was cool so whay not give it a shot?'"

Dwyer says that plans after HHS are still up in the air With so many interests, picking one has been tough for to settle With the obvious interest in music, she also is talented in biology and thinks a medical field would fit in well (outside of her intense fear of germs) The creative side of Dwyer wants to be a photographer, but predicts that will be a hobby

The Pride of Howe has elected their leadership team for the 2016-17 school year Officers are as follows: Kaylee Dwyer - President (and Drum Major); Kaycie Taylor - VP (and guard captain); Kindle Catching - Secretary (and woodwind squad leader); Bethany Masters

- Lowerclassmen Rep (and brass squad leader); Erin Tyler - Loading Captain

Also serving on the leadership team are Greg Snider (brass squad leader), Shellby Armstrong, Natalie Murphy, Rowdy Latty, and Kelsey Pierce
