thirsty I cannot focus very well because all I’m thinking about is food and water Likewise if you do not spend time in the word of God you are dying of spiritual starvation and dehydration You can only have an intimate relationship with the Lord if you live daily in His Word When you neglect His Word you are undermining your relationship with the source of spiritual life share does us no good unless we utilize the benefits it offers People came to hear Jesus speak because of the rumors of what He had done They followed Him to the sea because they thought He could give them the power to do miracles they were hoping for the big prize It’s not until you commit to Him that you reap the benefit of knowing Him And still you do your part and He will do His

“Most assuredly, I say to you You seek Me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled,” John 6:26

After Jesus fed five thousand people with five loafs of bread and three fish, many followed Him to the other side of the sea They were seeking Him for what He did not to know Him for who He was Just to know Him could have provided eternal life but they just didn’t get His message They could have followed Him to learn more about the permanent peace He gives to guide them through any trial, but instead they focused on their fleshly desires Meeting temporal needs or desires will never satisfy your spirit or your soul You will remain empty, hungry and always thinking ahead on how to fulfill your emptiness

“For the Bread of God is He Who comes down from Heaven and gives life to the world,” John 6:33 Jesus is the Bread of Life and He wants an intimate relationship with you. He wants to pour out His Holy Spirit into your spirit and life The word of God is spiritual food and the Bible describes it as milk in1Peter 2:2 and also as meat in Hebrews 5:11-14 If you only ate occasionally you will stay hungry When I’m hungry or

It’s a form of pride to think you can provide for yourself the nourishment that He said only He can provide If you came to Jesus for the miracle fish and bread that everyone else was receiving but then continued in your own selfish way then you didn’t really give yourself to Him That was you wanting God to serve you, not you wanting to serve Him as King! If you chase Him for who He is you will hunger no more and serve Him as your daily Provider “Jesus replied, "I am the bread of life Whoever comes to Me will never be hungry again Whoever believes in Me will never be thirsty,” John 6:35 If you ever have an up close and personal encounter with the presence of God you will never be the same There is no denying His deity You won’t want to leave that experience you will crave time with Him That’s what makes a true believer spend time in the Word of God each day

Years ago my husband and I drove for miles to hear a man’s sales pitch and a chance for something free We listen to the talk, walked with him around the property, went back to his office for lunch When he ask if we were interested in signing up we said, “No we just came for the prize!” We didn’t win the big prize we won a set of bad knifes We did that several times over until finally we bought a Time Share in Vail, Co We’ve had it now for 25 years Our time

“This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent,” John 6:29 God sent Jesus to be your everlasting Bread of Life God knows when He can work through you, and He will “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father,” John 14:12 The Holy Spirit can perform miracles through your willingness You need to be spiritually nourished and filled with the Bread of Life. No miracle you will ever experience can compare to the work of God in your own life when you truly believe in Jesus with your whole heart He will show you your hidden agendas, hurts, hang-ups and habits and ask you to lay them at the cross so you can be a vessel he can use He changes the heart of a true believer because out of your heart comes all of your behavior, good and evil Believe in Jesus with all your heart and seek Him for who He is Then the fruit of His spirit will flow out of everything you do and pride and selfishness dies The Gallup pole says 9 of 10 Americans say they believe in God God says if you truly believe in Him you will abide or stay in His Word True belief in God results in obedience to His Word because of honor, respect, love and a healthy fear of the Almighty God of all creation If you see God that big it humbles you “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments,” John 14:15 That’s pretty straight up

“Do you believe in the Son of Man?” John 9:35 Do you love Him? Jesus is the only way to the Father Believing there is a God will not change you, and looking around at 9 out of 10 people will confirm that statistic Knowing God for Who He is will change your life forever; He will give you eternal salvation, give you strength for tomorrow and permission to lay your burdens down It’s simple, “Jesus, I believe You are who You say You are Forgive me of my sins and come make Your home in my heart I give you the rest of my life to do Your way through me ”
