“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only beloved Son, that whoever believes in Him will not die, but have everlasting life,” John 3:16
The realization of how much you are loved by God will change your life and how you see yourself and others The Bible tells you that God loves you but it has to be in your heart not just your head You need a revelation that can’t be shaken or removed This can only be given by the Holy Spirt But first you have to be a believer in Jesus Christ as the Son of God You have to believe Jesus was conceived by a virgin, born in the flesh and lived as a sinless man He was fully God and fully man Jesus felt the temptations of His flesh just as you and I do yet He resisted and remained sinless As a perfect and flawless first born He was sacrificed for the sins of the whole world He was buried and resurrected to life and now sits at the right hand of God The Holy Spirit of God was sent to us as our Helper and He is fully God Unlike Jesus, He does not have a body and He can be all places at all times When you become a believer in Jesus Christ and called a Christian you want to submit to His authority as Lord over your life You are not born a Christian It’s a choice unlike other religions Another big difference in being a Christian than other religions, is that our God is alive and He loves you
The reality of how much God loves you happens as you read the Bible and focus on His Word God is a good Father and He continually tells His children how much He loves them It’s easy to focus on how much God loves the whole world but it’s a little more difficult to believe that if you had been the only person on the earth, God would have still sent Jesus to die for you and you alone I was a Christian for years before I really believed the debts of His love for me When I had my first child, a beautiful son that I named Joshua, my heart melted I started relating to God as a parent, a perfect Father. I could not imagine being able to love another human with the same sacrificial love that I loved Josh then I had this beautiful baby girl, Maranda My heart felt so satisfied. I loved her without losing any for Josh But how could God love the whole world like that? I had my third sweet little baby girl, Summer My heart was bursting with love for her and contented that I had maxed out and then I had my youngest son, Derek, 12 months later He was to be my baby forever and ever and I love him so much. I also have a daughter, Michelle, who just so happens to have a different mother I love her so very much and have adopted her into my heart as if she has always been there My five children are all different They each have a different personality, have different tastes, and a different calling with strengths and weaknesses I recognize their differences and love them for those difference
They each make this momma’s heart beat all the same My imperfect, selfish human heart has so much love for my babies I finally got it! God loves me! God loves you! He is perfect, selfless and God the Father has so much love for us We are His kids, His babies, His children God wants you to trust Him and to reach out to Him when you have a need
He wants to have a personal relationship with you He wants to spend time with you When I say to my children that I love them they know I love them as individuals, also I love doing things with them together as a family and individually, just them and their momma I would tell them that they were my favorite, I think they believed it when they were young Now it’s a joke as to who is momma’s favorite God says that to me and you “You are the apple of God’s eye” We are special to Him It’s our nature to have a craving and a desire in our heart to be loved God created that in us You are good enough to deserve the love of your creator He loves the whole world and He loves you as an individual He already knows you’ve messed up He knows the shame you have carried or are carrying He knows if you haven’t or don’t love yourself right now. You are unique and He loves you for that No matter how much He loves you, if you are not conscious and aware of it, it is not going to make you feel loved Love is a relationship You need to express love and feel love God wants to show you His love and He tells us how to love Him. Just because you were saved yesterday or years ago does not mean you are enjoying a loving fellowship with God He doesn’t want to be just acquaintances. There are many who believe there is a God but they are no better off than those who deny He is God As much as I love my husband, my children and my grandchildren; I think of the Lord as soon as my eyes open and as I close them at night My heart has more room to love others when God is first not last He loves me right where I am and He loves you right where you are If you think badly about yourself, you will not be able to believe that God loves you He knows your wrong doings and your sins, and He wants you to correct them because He loves you He doesn’t condemn but “The Lord corrects those He loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he favors,” Proverbs 3:12 God corrects us through His Holy Spirit and we learn it in the Bible God never holds back His love “For as a man thinks in his heart, he is,” Proverbs 23:7 Think about how much God loves you and allow it to be real in your heart It will be life changing

We are now officially in the season where massive amounts of people from other local towns are constantly in and out of Howe Youth baseball and softball sees more imported traffic from other towns than any other thing Those in the know expect Howe to grow by a couple hundred homes in the next two years which means a lot of young couples will be looking at our city in a different way on their way to little Hunter's baseball game at Ferguson Field or Hash Field
In order to attract those young families to consider Howe's new homes instead of new homes in Van Alstyne or Anna, we must improve our park situations Those of us that have young ballplayers, we travel to other cities and see the amenities that are greater than ours when it comes to parks Whitewright, Van Alstyne, Anna, Melissa and even Bells and S&S have superior fields and complexes With that said, we have wonderful parents that help take care of and in some cases improve our fields (such as John Grant and his fellow 8U coaches and parents)
I've always been told to be the best at whatever it is that we are In a city like ours - a bedroom community, we need to make sure that we are the best bedroom community we can be until that changes
In order to attract the young families and retain young families to rural areas, we must be in the game for not only great parks that include walking trails, biking trails and such, but also superior Internet access, a shop local program, community activities, civic clubs, a great local newspaper (well..can't have 'em all), and great schools
Howe hangs it hat on the ISD as it alone will attract some of those young families But we ALL have to do our part also Lets keep Howe beautiful and be welcoming to those new folks who will eventually make our water bills lower
Vintage tablecloths can be found with every imaginable motif from brilliant fruit and floral clusters to cowboys to souvenir state maps Many collectors are finding these wonderfully colorful tablecloths (and matching napkins if you are fortunate enough to find them) just right for their 1940s/50s kitchens or entertaining outdoors on the patio These are great items for novice collectors; they are easy to find, reasonably affordable, and come in a wide variety of patterns and colors to match most kitchen decors
The first cloths were produced in the 1920s, but very few of these will be found they wore out from use and were probably tossed out The heyday for the cloths was the 1940s (the charming designs and colors helped uplift the spirits of housewives from the unhappiness of the war years) and the 1950s when men and women alike were ready for cheerful injections of color into their everyday lives The cloths were inexpensive and sold in five and dime stores, although some of the better department stores sold them as well Because they were economical many families owned four or five different patterns so they could change the look in their kitchens frequently
Small textile mills in the South, New England and California produced the cloths If you are lucky you may find cloths in an unused condition with paper labels such as Broderie Creations, Springmaid, and Town and Country They were handprinted and made of 100-percent cotton, although some were made of rayon or linen Their color-staying power was due to the fact that they were finely woven and made with colorfast printing and dyes The permanence of the colors was achieved by vat dyeing developed in the 1930s and perfected in the 1940s Vat dyes are insoluble in water and very resistant to sunlight, washing and drycleaning; the fabrics in the cloths do not bleed or fade
Style and motif are the best gauge for determining age: linens from the 1920s had deco- and arts-andcrafts inspired motifs; fruits and flowers in naturalistic colors embellished the 1930s cloths; the 1940s patterns were more elaborate a la Carmen Miranda with bright borders and stripes and south-of-the-border and western designs; more fruits and flowers, western and geometric and abstract designs were introduced in the 1950s Kitchen implements of every type (teapots, coffeepots, and appliances) took on the status of household icons when printed on the cloths
The most common motifs are the fruit and floral pattern, but southwestern and state maps, although harder to find, are highly sought after When people started taking car trips for vacations, state maps became popular The most common states are the ones traveled to by tourists, like Texas, Florida, California, Alaska, and New York. Texas cloths are often exaggerations of the size of the state with quips and jokes featuring Texas brag about the animals, wealth, and historic sites They often matched the same braggadocio as were printed on the “tacky” souvenir plates that were produced in the U S and in Japan
My mother ALWAYS had a tablecloth on her table and my sisters and I have followed her in that tradition The Howe Mercantile has a nice selection of vintage cotton tablecloths just waiting to be part of your spring outdoor dining Many are priced under $20 so you can do as the ladies of the 1940s and have several to brighten up your kitchen
