Howe Winterguard flies high at North Texas competition

The Howe High School Winterguard performed in their first competition of the 2016 season, Friday Feb 5 at Wakeland High School Frisco, hosted by the North Texas Colorguard Association

The Howe Winterguard performed to the song "With You", from the musical "Ghost", a heartwrenching ballad of a young woman whose fiance is murdered and it describes how she grieves while living without him

Out of 9 groups in the Novice division, Howe placed 2nd with a score of 90 out of a possible 100

The NTCA is a D/FW Metroplex-based circuit, focused on smaller, scholastic groups wanting to participate at a local level. Growth in North Texas has been substantial, and the circuit has over 100 competing groups from both winterguard and indoor percussion Performing groups range from middle school to college age, consist of male and female students, who wear costumes and throw or flip brightly colored flags, rifles, sabres while dancing to music

This is the 2nd year that Howe Winterguard has participated in a competition season. Julie Cook, serves as Tech Director with Celestino Sosa, from Little Elm, as Creative Director.
