That was the scene and the smell coming from Pottsboro High School on Tuesday night when deja vu crept in late in the game by Michelle Carney throw to give Howe the 41-40 lead with only 49 seconds to go in overtime, but Pottsboro tied it with a free throw of their own and the game went to double overtime

The game was slow moving early with Howe leading 11-6 after the first As the game went on, the Lady Bulldogs were leading as much as 12 at the end of the third period, 37- 25 However, costly turnovers, foul outs and spotty officiating let Pottsboro dominate the fourth period to eventually tie the game at 40 and send the game to overtime.

With seconds remaining in the overtime, Riley Harvey grabbed a rebound and a Cardinal jumped over her back which took the two to the ground The official called a tie ball instead of the foul on Pottsboro The near automatic Harvey shooting at the free throw line would have most likely led to the sealing of the victory

Moments later, Alissa Smith fouled out and her replacement Kamryn Fulenchek drained a free

Harvey then fouled out and Pottsboro took complete advantage of Howe having two of their most dangerous weapons on the bench Pottsboro rallied to win, 48-43 Howe slipped to 14-6 on the season and 3-1 in district play

Harvey led the Lady Bulldogs with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Peyton Streetman knocked down nine points while Darci Foster added eight. Other scorers were Smith (7), Landry Rhoten (4), Kayla Anderson (3), and Fulenchek (1)

The girls recovered on Friday night in a big way by thrashing Callisburg, 60-21 The Howe girls were actually leading 49-7 headed into the fourth period After a 164 opening period, the Lady Bulldogs gave up only two points in the second period and one in the third The win moves their record to 15-6 and 4-1 in district
