continued from Page #4 for Howe in the first drive of the fourth quarter. It appeared that the onslaught was over as the first team backs had been pulled from the game. However, there isn't much drop off, if any, from the starters and youngster Brennan Ross, who would eventually score his first varsity touchdown with 3:08 left in the game That gave Howe a 70-0 lead

It looked as if the game would end at that score as Tom Bean had the ball starting with 3:08 left in the game and the clock continuously running But a pitch back from the Tomcat quarterback to running back was batted down by the quick Ty Portman and scooped up by Andrew Griffin who ran it in the end zone for the school record tying points of 76.

Brice Honaker's successful PAT set the record of 77 points in a single game. The final was 77-0, Howe over Tom Bean

The win was also the largest margin of victory for any Howe team with 77

With the win, Zack Hudson tied James "Blackie" Wade and Joey McQueen on the all-time win list with 16. A bit of irony with tying McQueen, for it was his team that scored 76 in 1991 and 75 vs. Whitewright in 1990

McQueen congratulated Hudson and the Bulldogs in a written statement:

"I would like to congratulate the Howe Bulldogs for setting the school record of 77 points in a game and to Coach Hudson for his 16th win as the Bulldog head coach There are some great memories during the years I coached at Howe, so cherish the memories you are making now"
