Community Library summer activities
Every Hero Has a Story
Crafts and Storytime – Hero theme with community heroes, superheroes, superhero training camp, and spectacular sidekicks. Keep a reading log and earn prizes throughout the summer months. Tuesday mornings for younger elementary students with programs geared for older children on Wednesdays.

Unmask – Teen (and preteen) time Thursday afternoons for big kids only! Explore the universe of superheroes and villains Maybe even plan a mini comic con event! Pick up a reading log to read and earn cool prizes throughout the summer

Wee Readers Storytime
This storytime is for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers Join us as we explore our world through songs, poems, puppet shows, and books. Earn a free book after 4 visits. Wee Readers is an on-going program (during the school year, hours are 9-10:00)
Ages: Birth though preschool ages and parents/caregivers
Time: Friday mornings – 10-11:00

Garden Club
We have an awesome garden area with beds for vegetables, flowers, and herbs Just needed: Workers to help pull weeds, trim plants, plant, water, harvest, and dry herbs Come prepared to sweat and get dirty!!!

Have a Heart for Art
Have fun experimenting with different art techniques and materials (paint, pastels, wire, etc.
Ages: This art time is geared for little children but all ages are welcome

Mini – Spanish Camp
This four day program will give us a chance to learn about the Spanish language. We will play fun games, learn basic Spanish words, try new foods, and explore online resources We hope to take a field trip to a Spanish Market
Ages: entering K-3rd grades
Time: 10:00-11:00
Dates: July 20-23 (4 days)
Need to preregister: space is limited
8U exits early in all-star tourney

Howe 12U headed to state
The Howe 8U struggled to get going in the first game vs Pottsboro and eventually lost Anthony Lowder, Mahlon Walker and Bea Stephens scored the only three runs of the game Walker and Stephens each had triples Howe then faced S&S and made a comeback attempt late in the game after not hitting the ball well in the first seven innings of the tournament Lowder and Brade Ulmer each scored two runs while Parker Daniels, Triston Williams, Walker, Stephens, Logan Duty and Will Ingram each scored a run
The 8U team consisted of Logan Duty, Beaudy Kuykendall, Braden Ulmer, Triston Williams, Anthony Lowder, Will Ingram, Mahlon Walker, Parker Daniels, Beau Stephens and Ethan Mayo The coaches were Josh Daniels, Monte Walker, Kristy Duty and Terry Ulmer
Howe's 10U team had a rough showing vs Van Alstyne in game one Luke Catching pitched well to start the game, but the game exploded with many errors behind pitcher Jacob Campbell Howe lost their second game to Pottsboro, who is in the championship tonight.
The 10U team consisted of Cooper Jones, Brice Dean, Garrett Gibbs, Stone Trevino, Marshall Larsen, Ryan Hough, Catching, Campbell, Rowdy Kuykendall, and Kolin Murphy
The 12U Howe Bulldogs won their first game 10-0 and won game two 15-5. They will not have enough players to play in the championship game tonight, but have secured second place in the tournament which qualifies them for the state tournament on July 11-14
