Paris Palacios had and still has a love for Downtown Howe. But after selling her downtown building located at 103 E. Haning, she's put that in the rear-view mirror and enjoying her new salon located next to her home on FM 902 just east of Howe.
"Everyone is saying that they love it " said Palacios "Most people are saying that they like it better than the old place "
Moving from a more than spacious 2,500 square feet downtown building to a fraction of floor space will save her on utility costs, but she still has a lot of the stuff left over from the old building downtown
"I'm going to have a yard sale I had a lot of stuff from that building " said Palacios
The new location features a shampoo bowl and chair and styling chair that are all new A few items made the transfer from the old building to the new. Items such as her favorite Tiffany Lights and chandelier made the transition.
The building is fully handicap accessible and was constructed by K.K. Construction. The flooring is porcelain tile that would fool most people due to its stunning look of aged barn wood
The building was Mennonite built, which is Nashville based company and Palacios ordered it from Whitesboro. It is a 12' x 24' structure inside, but the added porch makes it 12' x 28'. Palacios decked out the roof with radiant barrier and packed full of insulation.

With a 220 heater and air conditioning window unit, the building is ready for the hot summer and cold winter
Norman Dickey was the first customer to get a haircut in the new location, which was disheartening to Palacios' father M E Curtis, who assuming he'd be first
Palacios has been known not only for her hair salon, but also for her festive decorations downtown during holidays and her willingness to help with city events and promotions
