National Honor Society Ceremony

On Thursday evening, 16 members were inducted into the Charles R Thompson Chapter National Honor Society Those inductees were Mati Abner, Kayla Anderson, Emily Blackburn, Holly Cowin, Megan Davies,, Kaylee Dwyer, Ashlyn Ellis, Landry Elvington, Matt Griffin, Ethan Heilman, Caitlan Little, Kelsey Lux, Cooper Porter, Dani Ross, Emily Sanders, and Kaycie Taylor.

Also announced was the Junior Society which consists of Sheila Finney, Oleg Gardbrandt, Nasaut, Herrera, Zoee Watson, Marissa Agee, Alexandra Blount, Tatum Hartsfield, and Elizabeth Robertson

Howe High School teacher Kim Floyd made the presentation of inductees along with Middle School Teacher Randall Smith High School Principal Michael Smiley made congradulatory

Remarks

Incoming officers named were Nick Wilson as president; Sofia Roberts - vice president; Darci Foster - secretary; Sam Akins - treasurer and Jaylyn Mosse - historian

The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1921

Today, it is estimated that more than one million students participate in NHS activities
