LIVE ON CAMPUS

“ The cost of housing was a factor that went into my decision on whether to live on campus or not. Ultimately I chose to live on campus because of the savings from not having to drive, the convenience of being near my classes, the leadership opportunities it would provide, and the unforgettable memories I would make.

Samantha | ‘18 | Nursing

FACT LIVING ON CAMPUS CAN BE CHEAPER THAN LIVING OFF CAMPUS In a lot of cases, the cost of living on campus in a residence hall is more affordable than living off-campus in an apartment or rental home. Your rent living on campus includes utilities like electricity, gas, water, air conditioning and heating, Wi-Fi, and basic cable. In most houses and apartments, you will have to pay for these in addition to your rent. Most houses and some apartments don’t come furnished, so that’s another cost you need to add to your expenses. Living on campus also means you don’t need a car and therefore won’t have parking expenses. Plus, the ability to wake up and go straight to class in your pajamas is priceless!

how do I pick

MY HALL?

HOW TO CHOOSE With 23 residence halls (dorms), there are a lot of options when it comes to living on campus. Our halls come in all shapes, sizes and locations (districts) – which means you have choices! Do you like to be surrounded by a lot of people in a large hall, or do you prefer to know everyone in a smaller hall? Do you want a more private bathroom? Is the location on campus important? Is cost a factor? Thinking about these questions will help you choose your UA home.

THEME COMMUNITIES START WITH SOMETHING IN COMMON

Theme communities allow you to live with other students who share a similar personal or academic interest. The partnership between you, the other residents, and your hall staff creates a dynamic living experience for developing lasting relationships and a network of support during your transition to college life. Choosing to live in a theme community can enhance your first year experience and provide fun and lasting memories.

HONORS COMMUNITIES Students admitted to the University of Arizona Honors College are eligible to live in one of two honors halls (Ă rbol de La Vida or Yuma). Honors students are not required to live in the Honors halls. You select an honors hall when you pick a hall to live in, based on availability.

HOW TO APPLY The theme community application process, inside your housing application, opens in January. Space is limited. FOR MORE INFO
