Why did you decide to set up home in this area? Pippa: We wanted space. The large house and spacious garden feel so open, and there are no high-rise buildings – you don’t feel closed in by anything. And the Triangle is different from many other villa developments too: we have our own plot, and are not attached to any other houses at all. Our money went much further here, as well – you get large rooms and a fair bit of outside space, and there’s a real feeling of privacy. Have many families moved into the neighbourhood? Pippa: Oh yes, there are lots – it’s a great area for people with small children because there’s no traffic and it’s really quiet. Kids can go cycling, play in the street – when we first moved in we even played cricket on the road because there was nobody else here. You just don’t get that in the city. We have a bit of garden fence chat, too – people often strike up conversations. When we first moved in we spoke to our neighbours about what they’d done with their gardens; people interact with each other here, and it was a great way to pick up tips. Having your own plot, are there any opportunities to extend the villa? Pippa: Yes – we’ll be able to build a third bedroom above the garage. The great thing about this area is that the house styles cater to different people and different needs. James: We love the downstairs living area – with all the doors open, you get
