Tignes You’ll find an unbeatable snow record in Tignes, so if you want to get a lot of skiing done, this high altitude resort is part of a huge ski area and is a perfect choice. Tignes itself is made up of three main villages – Val Claret, Le Lac, Le Lavachet – and it’s easy to get around them all with the excellent 24-hour free bus service. Le Lac and Le Lavachet have a more cosy village feel, while Tignes 1850 and Tignes Les Brévières are quieter places to stay. You won’t be short of shops, bars and restaurants too, which creates a lively, friendly buzz.
