SUMMER ACTIVITIES FOR THE KIDS

SAFETY TIPS THIS SUMMER DURING THE PANDEMIC According to the World Health Organization, it is important to keep cool during the summer to avoid the negative health effects of heat. Heat can trigger exhaustion and heat stroke, and can aggravate existing conditions such as cardiovascular, respiratory, kidney, or mental health diseases. Remember that you can still catch the Coronavirus no matter how sunny or hot the weather is.

1. Join your local library's summer reading program. 2. Join the national campaign to read 1,000 books before kindergarten. See link: https://1000booksbeforekinde rgarten.org/activities/

If you decide to go outside (e.g., roadtrip, beach, hiking, walking) this summer, please follow these tips to prevent the spread of the virus:

Drink water regularly. Staying hydrated is very important. Wash your hands for 20 seconds with soap. If you do not have access to water and soap, use hand sanitizer.

3. Do some science experiments

Avoid exposures to sun or to temperatures higher than 25°C or 77°F. Always wear sunscreen when going outside.

4. Make some art projects (e.g., painting, build some cardboard creations with boxes, make a scrapbook)

Wear a mask or face covering when going outside. Cough into your folded elbow or tissue. Avoid touching your face.

Stay at home if anyone is sick or have been exposed to Covid-19.

Socialize at a distance, at least 6 feet away from other people. Keep the guest list small (maximum of 10 people). Do not greet people with hugs or handshakes.
