ABOUT HOPE
Our vision and hope is that the residents of East Chattanooga and the surrounding region are transformed through loving service, meaningful work, and reconcilitaion with Christ.
MISSION VALUES
We are a Christian organization that engages, invests, and empowers our neighbors to bring economic stability to East Chattanooga for God’s glory in the name of Jesus.
Christ-centered, Holistic, Collaborative, Relational, Incarnational, Developmental, Authentic
We are an economic empowerment ministry that provides resources and a Christcentered community for low-income individuals in East Chattanooga (37404 + 37406) to bring glory to Christ and provide stability for those without.
Over 50% of children born in Hamilton County are born into economic instability and 70% stay stuck in the cycle. Hope for the Inner City exists to help those who live in poverty escape it— permanently.
We are committed to equipping people in their physical and spiritual needs, encouraging imagination, and creating a healthy community in which men, women, and children can thrive.
Our partnership with local Christians, churches, and various organizations allows us to offer services such as Food Distribution, Dental and Vision Clinics, Bill Assistance, Urban Farming, Job Readiness, Home Repair, and Community Meals
We are humbled by how God uses Hope for the Inner City to be such a kingdom resource in East Chattanooga.

OUR 2022 IMPACT INCLUDED:
URBAN AGRICULTURE
In 2022, as part of our Urban Agriculture program, Hope for the Inner city has continued in partnership with Wild Violet Permaculture to implement our ongoing growing plan.
Wild Violet, along with our Urban Farm Coordinator has expanded our growing space, worked hard to utilize and redirect water run-off, and has continued to work on developing the land that we have at HFIC.
2022 HIGHLIGHTS
Vision Clinic 12-O
In December of 2022, Hope for the Inner City had the incredible opportunity to partner with the Lions Club as well as the Frost Family in order to open our Vision Clinic. Through this clinic, we hope to close the gap to eye-care access in East Chattanooga. We are so grateful to each of the doctors who are volunteering their time and skills to serve lowincome individuals in our community.
Senior Luncheons
In 2022, Hope for the Inner City started hosting monthly senior lunches. Thes last wednesday of every single month, seniors from East Chattanooga community gather together to feast and fellowship together. It is a great time to build community while also helping community seniors find and receive the resources they need.
Summer Home Repair
Our Urban Mission Teams assist us in the summer to do simple home repair projects throughout our community. We have many individuals and especially seniors in the community who have work that needs to be done on their homes, but they are unable to do themselves and cannot afford to hire someone to do it. We bring in teams to complete these projects such as simple roofing jobs, painting, fixing decks, and yard work. In 2022, thanks to the partnership of our Urban Mission Teams and Mission Serve, we got to fix 10 homes!
