JOHN 8:36

1825 BAPTISMS

FOUR GENERATIONS OF BAPTISM

1,825 baptisms in 2024 is a large number! Each baptism resembles a unique story of hope, freedom, and restoration. However, one story stands out: the story of John Yingling and how his recovery led to the baptism of four generations.

Trapped in addiction for 17 years, John Yingling never dreamed he would ever be a leader, let alone the spiritual leader of his family. Addiction had robbed him of so much; what was left were all the broken relationships and skewed purpose. But, through Hope Center Ministries, John rediscovered what he thought was lost forever: freedom, restoration, and hope.

With the mentoring of Hope Center Ministries and the incredible people God brought into his life, John found the true freedom that Christ alone offers. "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed“ (John 8:36) was no longer just another verse; it became a reality for John.

He embraced his role as spiritual leader of his household, guiding them to Christ and biblical truth.

One of the greatest experiences of John's change was when he, his daughter, his mother, and his grandmother were baptized. All at once, four generations are now committed to Christ. It was a public declaration of their shared faith and an indication of his family's complete restoration.

"Baptism was a new beginning for us," John clarified. "It was the death of our old selves and the resurrection into a new life, one of purpose, hope, and unity."

Their baptism communicated the unity of a family and established their commitment to their church and community. Standing in the water that day, John was reminded of Joshua 24:15, "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." 8

Baptism of John Yingling

John's story is a powerful reminder of what Hope Center Ministries is about: restoring lives, families, and communities. Now, John has strength and purpose in being able to lead his family, a living example that no one is too far gone for God's grace.

“Thank you, Hope Center Ministries, Compassion Church Dickson, and especially my Recovery Pastor, John Olmstead, for introducing me and my family to the incredible grace of Jesus Christ," John stated.

From addiction to leadership, from brokenness to wholeness, John's life is living proof of the transformative power of Jesus.

And now, through four generations of his family, that legacy of freedom will live on.

"Hope Center has completely transformed my life. It’s where I truly experienced the love of Christ and discovered a deeper understanding of Jesus through the incredible leadership at the Bethany campus. Today, I’m a Recovery Pastor at the Ada campus, my mother is a year sober, and I’m working towards full custody of my son. Hope Center didn’t just change my life; it restored my family and gave me purpose."

For many of our residents, life before Hope Center Ministries was marred with failure, broken families, lost opportunities, and the soul-crushing weight of addiction. Every day reminded them how far they had fallen until someone introduced them to Jesus, and everything changed.

Graduation isn’t just a finish line; it’s proof of transformation. It marks the end of a year-long healing journey and the beginning of a new life. For many, it’s their first time completing anything meaningful. It’s a moment that says, “I am not my past. I am a new creation.”

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 2 Corinthians 5:17

In the first 30 days of the program, residents begin to see hope. They realize change is possible, they aren’t failures, and their lives still have a purpose. Graduation becomes a symbol of that truth. Standing tall, with a Certificate of Graduation in hand, they declare that the person who walked through the doors a year ago is gone, replaced by someone free and whole.

But graduation isn’t the end; it’s the start of a new chapter. Faith meets real life, where restored fathers return to their children, mothers to their families, and individuals to their communities, carrying hope that can’t be shaken.

"Our lives have changed drastically since going through Hope Center Ministries. Michael and I both completed the program; he graduated from the Temple, TX, location, and I graduated from Purcell, OK. We realized that it wasn’t just about getting sober individually; we both needed to heal and grow. Hope Center taught us how to love each other, live sober, and keep God at the center of our marriage. My relationship with my son has been restored, and I have a relationship with my two daughters, whom I gave up for adoption over 10 years ago! We’ve built a new life in Temple, TX, and we’re celebrating 12 years together this year. Hope Center didn’t just help us get sober; it gave us the tools to truly live and love again.”

"Hope Center Ministries gave me more than recovery; it gave me hope for a future. I’ve found a relationship with God, a supportive church family, and a passion for work I love. While I’m still working toward getting my kids back, Hope Center showed me that restoration is possible. My life now is filled with purpose, courage, and strength. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds me daily that God has a plan for my life, hope, and a future, and I’m living proof of that promise."

"Hope Center changed my life in ways I never thought possible. It helped me restore my relationship with God and showed me that I was worth saving, even when I didn’t believe it myself. As the first graduate of the Florence campus, I now serve as the Recovery Pastor at the Goldsboro Women’s Campus. I’m working on bringing my 5-year-old daughter here this summer and recently had the joy of my 22-year-old son attending Family Day, seeing me thrive in this role. Hope Center didn’t just give me a second chance; it gave me a purpose, a family, and a future I never dreamed of."

The core of our mission relies on the commitment of our volunteers. Their time and effort play a key role in changing lives. Without them, the work of our ministry would not be possible.

Volunteering is more than just helping; it’s an investment in the lives of men and women on the path to recovery. It’s being present in difficult moments, supporting victories, and showing people they are not alone.

In 2024, many lives were changed because volunteers gave their time, served with care, and supported those working toward freedom from addiction. From leading classes to offering guidance and support, every act of service made a difference.

To every volunteer who gave their time and energy, thank you. You are an important part of this ministry, and the impact you’ve made will continue to reach families and communities for years to come.

You’re not just volunteering. You’re changing lives.

FAMILY SUPPORT 1268

We believe recovery isn’t just about the individual but the entire family. Addiction impacts more than just the addict; it affects parents, spouses, children, and loved ones. That’s why we focus not only on supporting our residents but also the families journeying alongside them.

Throughout the recovery process, families are given opportunities to reconnect, learn, and heal. We provide resources that help families better understand addiction, strengthen communication, and rebuild trust. From support nights and educational classes to opportunities for visitation and group recovery meetings, we aim to create spaces where healing can happen on both sides.

In 2024, we witnessed countless moments of restoration, parents reconnecting with children, marriages finding new strength, and broken relationships beginning to heal. These are the moments that remind us of the power of community and the importance of family in the recovery journey. We know that addiction breaks families apart, but Jesus has the power to bring them back together.

1695

At Hope Center Ministries, we are committed to walking with families through this process, offering support, hope, and the tools needed to move forward stronger and united.

FLORENCE ROANOKE

In 2024, Hope Center Ministries took bold steps to expand its reach, opening four new centers. Through strategic partnerships with local churches and the dedication of strong leaders, communities across the country are witnessing the life-changing impact of discipleship-based recovery. These centers are more than just buildings; they are places where lives are restored, futures are reclaimed, and hope is renewed.

Florence, SC –

In Florence, SC, lives are being forever changed with the opening of our new women’s center. Thanks to the relationship with Compassion Church and Pastor Jay Teal, 31 more women now have a place to find freedom, healing, and hope. Traci Nichols, Director, and Sue Frazier, Recovery Pastor, lead with compassion and strength, creating a safe haven for women ready to rebuild their lives. This center is more than just beds and a program; it’s a place where mothers are reunited with children, futures are reclaimed, and the cycle of addiction is broken. Each woman who walks through the doors steps into a new chapter of possibility and purpose.

Ada, OK –

Ada, OK now stands as a powerful reminder that hope can thrive in any community willing to fight for it. With 30 new beds made possible by Crosspointe Church and Pastor Chad Large, more men now have a place to confront addiction and rediscover their God-given purpose. Under the dedicated leadership of Kelly Blackburn as Director, this center is becoming a cornerstone of recovery in the Ada community. A healthy addition this year was Stevie Ray Tawkoyty stepping in as Recovery Pastor. Having personally experienced the life-changing impact of Hope Center as a graduate, Stevie now leads with empathy and passion, guiding men through their own healing journeys. His leadership brings hope full circle, turning transformation into a legacy that impacts others.

EXPANDING INTO NEW CITIES

Roanoke, VA –

In Roanoke, VA, the doors of our new men’s center opened wide this year, offering 24 beds and countless opportunities for men to discover life beyond addiction. In partnership with New Life Church and Pastor Tony Atkinson, this center has quickly become a beacon of hope for families longing for restoration. Under the leadership of Travis Byrd, Director, and David Adams, Recovery Pastor, men are not only finding freedom but are being equipped to step into leadership within their homes and communities. Every man here is rewriting his story, turning pain into purpose, and creating a new legacy for future generations.

Pleasant View, TN –

In Pleasant View, TN, expansion has created even greater opportunities for recovery. With the addition of 11 new beds, this center has deepened its reach, offering more men a place to heal and grow. In partnership with Pastor Chris Royalty at 24 Church and the relocation of our National Director, Stephen Palk, and Chad Barbe, Recovery Pastor, he continues to walk alongside residents with wisdom and compassion, helping them rebuild their lives from the ground up. Every new bed represents a new beginning, a life pulled from darkness into light, creating a ripple effect that transforms entire families and communities.

ONE MISSION. MANY COMMUNITIES. ENDLESS IMPACT.

Every new bed, every new center, every changed life is the heartbeat of Hope Center Ministries. Together, these centers add to the powerful network of hope, each uniquely serving its community while carrying the same mission: To lead addicts and their families to become fully devoted followers of Christ. As we reflect on this year’s growth, it’s clear our work is far from done. The seeds planted in Florence, Roanoke, Ada, and Pleasant View are already bearing fruit, and with God’s help, the harvest has only just begun.

SCAN HERE TO WATCH THE FULL INTERNATIONAL STORY

In 2024, Hope Center Ministries continued to expand its global reach, now supporting 11 centers worldwide with over 150 residents living on properties outside the U.S. We are just getting started with international work. New doors are opening in England, India, Eastern Europe, South Africa, and Rwanda, creating new opportunities to bring hope to more lives trapped in addiction.

What started as casual connections has evolved into deeper bonds connected by a drive to witness addicts and their families brought to Christ. We believe that every soul matters equally to God regardless of geographical location.

On the streets of Israel, Michael sat against a crumbling wall, a needle in his hand, lost in addiction. People passed by; some glanced, and most looked away. But Vladimir didn’t.

Vladimir knew that Michael was an addict trapped in an inescapable cycle, but he also knew that hope was possible. He knelt beside Michael and spoke words that pierced through the darkness. He told him about Jesus, a Savior who saw him, loved him, and offered true freedom that no drug could.

That moment changed everything.

Michael entered a local recovery program, one of Hope Center’s strategic partners in Israel. It wasn’t easy, but over time, he found freedom. Many years later, Michael now leads the program that helped him find Jesus. Like Vladimir, his life mission is guiding others toward the same hope that saved his life.

Michael’s story is just one of many. There are thousands more like him, hoping for someone to stop and reach out with the grace and truth that is only found in Jesus Christ.

LOCAL AND GLOBAL MISSIONS GIVING

In 2024, through our outreach efforts and support of other Recovery Centers, World Missions, Underprivileged Kids, Disaster Relief, Human Trafficking, and Local Churches, we invested over one million dollars to expand the Kingdom of God. From helping families rebuild after crises to supporting underprivileged children, rescuing individuals caught in human trafficking, and empowering ministries that align with our mission, every dollar given made a direct and lasting impact bringing hope, healing, and restoration to those who need it most.

We will continue to strengthen our partnerships, expand our reach, and invest in people and places where hope feels out of reach. Because when we are generous, the impact ripples beyond the present but far into the future. Generosity helps rewrite stories, restore futures, and leave a legacy of hope that will last for generations.

One of the most powerful moments of 2024 was our Annual Christmas Family Gathering, where over 1,400 residents shared the joy of the season with their families. Parents once trapped in addiction personally handed gifts to their children, many for the first time in years. It wasn’t just about presents; it was about healing, second chances, and the restoration of families.

HIRED

Our heart is to raise up leaders for more than Hope Center, providing an outlet for churches, mission fields, and ministries around the world to hire quality staff. Through theology, hands-on ministry training, and leadership, we equip individuals to live out their calling as a pastor, a church staff member, a missionary, or a role at Hope Center. Ultimately, we want to become an organization known for developing quality Kingdom-minded leaders sent out to do the Father’s business worldwide (Lk 2:49).

In addition, through our partnership with Southwestern Christian University, residents now have the opportunity to pursue higher education at a discounted tuition rate using the Pell Grant to earn their associate degree. Those who qualify may continue their education to obtain a bachelor’s degree, opening doors to new careers and brighter futures.

Looking ahead, we’re committed to growing this program, knowing that every leader we empower creates a ripple effect of hope that reaches far beyond our walls.

RECREATION EVENTS

Monthly Recreation:

One of our core values at Hope Center Ministries is humble but powerful: We Have Fun in Recovery. We don't believe real transformation is merely about addiction recovery. It's about recovering the joy, laughter, and connection that addiction stole. In 2024, we strategized several paths for residents to recapture the simple joys of life, building memories that both cement their recovery and sense of home.

Each month, residents enjoy activities like bowling, movie nights, sporting events, paintball, and Christian concerts, meaningful moments that show recovery can be fun and community-driven. From lake days and hiking trips to escape rooms and craft events, these activities help residents build friendships, create memories, and rediscover the joy addiction once stole. Whether it’s a relaxing spa day, an afternoon at the zoo, or the excitement of amusement parks and canoeing rivers, every experience reinforces that life in recovery is not only possible but can be filled with laughter, connection, and purpose.

Annual Christmas Gathering:

Residents showcased their creativity through heartfelt and hilarious skits, filling the room with laughter and creating lasting memories. Everyone gathered for a warm Christmas meal, sharing moments of connection and gratitude. The celebration extended beyond the walls of our centers with Christmas giveaways, ensuring our men and women felt the love and generosity of the season.

Resident Vacations:

This year, our residents went on well-deserved vacations, where they rested, rejuvenated, and experienced life beyond the recovery walls. From trips to the mountains and adventures in Gatlinburg to relaxing at East Coast beaches, these getaways offered residents a chance to reconnect with nature, build deeper friendships, and create lasting memories.

Ministry-Wide Softball Tournaments:

Our campus-wide softball games were a success once again this year, as campuses came together for days of teamwork and sportsmanship. These events don't just build community; they give residents a chance to build their confidence, stay active, and have a good time.

y; it’s a bridge to healing. We know that inds residents that life can be full and ent of happiness is a victory.

In 2024, we are proud to report that 91% of all expenses went directly to our program and residents, with only 9% allocated to overhead costs. This marks a significant improvement from 2023, where 87% supported programs and 13% covered overhead. This shift reflects our ongoing commitment to maximizing every dollar for the greatest impact, ensuring more resources go directly to helping individuals and families break free from addiction. We are constantly striving to improve, knowing that every dollar saved is another life touched by hope and healing.
