DAGUAN GALLERY Taipei, Taiwan | Built Noiz architects | Project year: 2016 Overall design | branding design In this project, we used the elements of concrete and lights to echo the art collections of Dagaun gallery"modern Chinese link paintings". The concrete frame in the entrance is a metaphor that gallery itself is a frame to sublime art works. Moreover we designed three operable display walls to introduce the nature views and lights into the interior space. Also, they separate the space for holding different exhibitions at the same time. During a wall opens there will have unlimited possibly bring to space.

OBJECT SENSE All Taiwan Hermes stores | Built Noiz architects | Project year: 2017 There were 27 display windows in total. For this season the topic Hermes was object sense which to show the feeling, cutting, materials .etc. of their products. The inspiration is from 60s theater. By using a simple background and spot light to bring out the main characters and sites. Moreover, using the principle of shadow to mgnify the details of products. An abstract process of deconstruct and reform . We measured all kinds of Hermes's products and rebuilt in 3d models. Then calculated the accurate shadows by using grasshopper. Next calculated the support pipes and XYZ position of the product in the display space.

FAMILY HOUSE RENOVATION SaiKung,Hong Kong | Under construction Individual | Design and built | 2018 The house have more than one hundred years history, most of the wall were built by stones. The house was formerly a pig shed. Although the site have 58.5 square meter big but the house was not well planned, me and my two brothers was living in one small room and one of us need to sleep on the oor, also we need to carry water from the river to flush the toilet, some roofs was leaking water and three house was separated too far. Therefore, I spent ďŹ ve months to design and built my family house, mainly I worked on wood work and concrete part, sometimes electricisty and water. From only two bed rooms changed to five bedrooms, two

toilets and two living rooms. New water and electric system. Also some handmade furniture. The principal design concept is to connect three houses together, plan a smooth work flow, low carbon, separate storage space in each rooms and fullfill every family members (5-6 people) special needs, for instance large kitchen, dancing area, gym area, and independent courtyard .etc. It was a great experience to learn more about materials, project managment, space design.

WHEN HUMAN LEFT AA visiting school 2015 |

Group members: Natalie Chow, Javier Sanagustín Canudo, Ho On Tong and Xiyue Wang In this workshop we requested to create a conceptual space that have a sense of wine by using data collected from different part of wine making process. And our group is the fermentation. We proposed a new system of fermentation automated by nature and not humans or machinery. We tried to use alternate thinking that what will wine happen when the workers turn o the light and left the wine factory.

During fermentation, the density and temperature of wine will increase, therefore workers always need to check and cool down the temperature of the tank to keep this process longer for good quality of wine. We created two topography , the concrete one is controlling the temperature by green house effect while the PVC one is controlling the movement of wine capsules by the slope and density of water. And the space because this two topography model is the sense of wine in fermentation process.

CONTINUITY CREATES ATTRACTIONS

Introduction: Four months, three projects, one design theory and all of them need to have a connection. The whole process is more like doing a art work, each time I started my project with a big topic and after I finished it, I tried to understand my subconsciousness to look for a precise theme and to look for some common basic principles that happen in every society and culture. “People do not use city open space just because it is there and because city planners or designers wish they would.” [ Jacobs, Jane, M, 1961. The Death and Life of Great American Cities, p.90] Sometimes a public design maybe too idealism, in the other sides, maybe we did not study enough of the public beings. Indeed, it is very sad that when a new building is placed in the site, it did not improve anything to human life, we continuous our life style without thinking what we actually want. Let us not judge a building on its uniqueness, or departure from the past. Buildings should be related to the average inhabitant, be cohesive with

ideas, and be inherently performative. Instructiveness is the effect on users through architecture designed by architect, which embody the designing principle base on human being. Therefore, I am interested in thinking how the real user to use a space. I started my thesis topic with “Movement” something is changing, then I go on to “human movement” the behavior of people in a space, and “Connection” how the human flows continuous and connect from one space to another. Finally “Continuity creates Attractions”, how a architectural public design can lead the flows. I began with searching some original and abstract examples for this topic, at the same time, I tried to understand my subconscious thinking and looking for a topic I am really interested in when I was doing and finishing each month’s projects. Similar to school, hospital and community center, these type of functioning buildings have their service radius, I insisted that public space have a servicing area as well. When a design placed in the site is not just

Abstract: This thesis is a definition and hypothesis of design methods only focus on space to create suggestive leading in public space. And proofing and applying them in large, medium and small scale. The propose is to use architectural method to design spaces which can attract the greatest public use and leading them another spaces at the same time solving the society problems and improve the quality of public lives.

about the design itself but influencing the all the surroundings. If we can manage this relationship well, and try to greatest use of it, then a design will not be just a small point but a part of the building, city, society or changing a bigger area . Moreover, we can activate some unused space and the site by a design. Continuity have two meanings in architecture, one is the state or quality of being continuous for instance a repeating design method in a building, another one is a continuous or connected whole, for instance, a continuous views from the building or a .continuous flows in a building. In this thesis the continuous is the design elements, in other words, the ideas for design. Movement is a attraction to people, unlike guidance, guide is a verb to show or indicate the way to someone while attract is a verb to cause to come to a place or participate in a venture by offering something of interest or advantage. However, to guide people how to use the space as the designer want

can not be function for different users. On the other hand, create a space to “attract” the flows by giving a sense of movement makes the process of walking more interesting and optional. Using attraction for design can always give people a stronger emotion than a perspective guiding. Hypothesis: 1.continous surface, 2.continous topographic, 3.continous perspective variety, 4.continous view, 5.continous imply Brief introduction of each projects: Density city- Barcelona: The Sagrada Familia is a strong attractive landmark to the city but it also brings the problem of high density of tourists. And the surroundings area did not raise up the economic, people only stay nearby the church but not discover the city. By interpretate Gaudi’s of the Sagrada Familia surroundings planning #1 which havn't built and using the design methods of (3,4) #2 to spread tourists and citizen to a larger rang and solve the high density problem.

Human as the river- Catania: In Piazza Carlo Alberto di Savoia, when there is the market, it is so crowded and not enough static space. On the other side, when the market is over, there are full of garbage and emptiness which cause criminal cases. Therefore, the idea is to continuous people flow attractions and activate the site after the market is over. The site itself is already a continuous perspective variety (3) space. Merged diffirent time and date GPS maps #3 to find out the most density area to create a new topographic (2) in the site to separate different function area, for instance, stores and visitors flow, public space and walkway, quite and noisy .etc. Meanwhile, Catania famous of lava, citizen are pound of their street or basement is made of lava and many underground rivers coming from the volcanic to the city and sea. Therefore, this design #4 concept is also a metaphor (5) that the human is part of the lava or river, to attract more people to come and well use this space.

Design description: A new environmental installation. A new feeling of historical buildings. To retain the spirit of the historical building’s elevation, this design appears “loomly” in the site. New museum has a corelationship with two old buildings. The different and similar things between old and morden can activate visitors’s emotion of history. At the result, they will start to think about the significance of architectural heritage. Site environment: The site is in the area of Zhalantun Middle East railway architectural museum, also surrouded by historical buildings. They are layered with multiple identities and can be read from spatial, time and social perspectives.

LIQUID JEWELRY Jewelry design | Individual | Nov 2016

Process of wave forming

This is a jewelry design collection pushing me to do experiment in small scale design and to find out the deep meaning and beauty behind objects. I grown up in a small fishing village town in Hong Kong. Therefore, sea has a special meaning to me, no matter in anywhere, just seeing the sea always makes me feel clam and get inspired. When the ďŹ rst time I practiced wax craving and casting, I found it can be another way to use the characteristics of material "wax". By melting, we can stop the abstract moment but not creating a sculpture which looks like something or an accurate geometry.

By mechanics laws, the center part of skateboard is the weakest part of whole board. This is an experiment of testing the strength and tension of voronoi structure. Because of testing and modify the voronoi pattern, it is all handmade for the first model. The weeknees part of the skateboard is a hollow voronoi structure brings a big visual contrast and a metaphor of material (wood) cells magniďŹ er.

Puzzle box is a hot design topic for many woodworking enthusiasts. Except the fixture parts, the whole box is using traditional tenon structure. This is a deconstruction concept, a imagination of a box exploded. During the triangle cone turns, the length of edge change and the box will be unlock. This design can also apply in bigger scale, for instance locker or building.
