Founded in 1916 in Wisconsin, Modine established a facility in Trenton in November 1968. Modine products serve several different end users through two main business segments: Climate Solutions and Performance Technologies. These air-cooled applications can be used in heavy-duty, commercial, or specialty vehicles like farm and mining equipment, semi trucks, buses, or delivery vans.

Modine Trenton employs 200 people, on average, and donates money and time to different charities and organizations through the community when possible. In addition, several employees serve in the community and on various boards, such as the Chamber of Commerce.

Kimberly Mengel, Plant Controller, said, “I truly enjoy the people I work with, along with having the opportunity to work for a global company in my hometown.”

In 2019, Modine Trenton was named Trenton Large Business of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce, and in 2018 and 2019, it was named Navistar Diamond Supplier of the Year (Navistar is one of Modine Trenton’s top customers). Modine Trenton seeks to be a top employer of choice in the region and to continue its involvement in the community.

Modine’s company purpose is Engineering a Cleaner, Healthier World™. Their products do this by helping to improve air quality, reduce water and energy consumption, lower harmful emissions, enable cleaner running vehicles, and use environmentally friendly refrigerants. At the Trenton facility, Modine has evolved with the market and the times by transforming from a copper/brass product to an aluminumbased product. How a product is made has also evolved over the last several years. The use of robotics and newer, more updated technology has improved many processes.

Kimberly went on to say, “We see a lot of potential for our products and are excited for the future.”
