Spickard Board of Education
The Spickard Board of Education started their meeting at 6:00 p.m. January 23, 2023.
The Board approved payment of January bills totaling $85,013.62.

Food Service transfer from Local funds to reimburse Federal funds for adult meals served: breakfast $307.20 and lunch
$1,698.12.
The Board approved field trip for 3rd and 4th grade to Jefferson City on April 18.
Suggestions were made on the school calendar for next school year, and will be brought up at February's meeting.
Two incumbent board candidates have filed for re-election: Glenn Wilson and Chelsea Hostetler; we will have a write-in candidate open on the ballot as well.
February meeting was moved to February 27 because of President's Day on the 20th.

January Top Pirate assembly was held in the gym on February 1 at 3:25p.m.
Six staff members attended the Powerful Learning Conference at Margaritaville Jan 30 & 31.
Local spelling bee winners were: 1st-Forest Sharp, 2nd-Jacob WilsonHay and Alternate-Sophia Persell
So far the Board has raised $2,369 in the Book Blast Drive; A ll teachers will receive a $100 shopping spree and all students will receive 10 free books; winners of the treasure chests stuffed with cash and prizes are: Emmitt Marrs, Sophia Persell, Mason Wilson, and Tyler Canady. Winner of the iPad was Annyston Vandever.
PTO will be hosted a Winter Carnival on February 3 from 5:00-6:30 p.m. There will be no school because of teacher inservice on February 10.
The Board renewed $5 million Umbrella Liability Insurance Policy through MUSIC with a premium of $500.
Proposal was signed to have CG Environmental do the three year AHERA reinspection.
No changes were made to the District Wellness Policy.
The Board hired Amy Chapman as new secretary/bookkeeper and moved Jessica Wilson to part-time janitor and parttime head cook.

Bryan David Reckrodt
Bryan David Reckrodt, a 61-year-old resident of Unionville, passed away Friday, February 3, 2023, in Lemons.
Bryan was born March 12, 1961 in Blue Island, IL to George and Donna
Reckrodt. Cremation services were provided by Playle & Collins Family Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held over the 4th of July weekend at Lake Thunderhead.
