Sculptural sofa designs, like modular furniture, are a double-edged sword: they can make a living room set the talk of a party and a testament to refined taste… if they fit their surroundings. Always be aware of the room as a whole and the overall design priorities when choosing your furniture, not just the colour scheme. A fabulous modern leather settee, for example, will look awkward in a cabin-style living space, as strange as a hand-dyed leather chesterfield will in an ultra-modern, naturally lit urban home.
