Spring prep Take your home from winter to spring with these simple tips by Julie Cooper

E

ven though Charlotte can’t make up its mind as to what season it is— sunny and 70 one day and snow flurries the next—the calendar says spring is here. So, as the grass defrosts and trees begin to bloom, now’s the time to start the winter-to-spring transition. Vacuum under the sofa, clear out some drawers and clean the windows for all the extra light that’s about to stream in. And then get to work incorporating these expert tips and trends for a little more spring in your step—and in your home.

“Think of spring as a time to let go of anything you don’t love,” says top Charlotte-area designer Christina Britt Lewis with the redesign company. “Give your rooms the side eye, and if you see things you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful, sell them or give them away. Think less, but better. And remember, new seasons do not have to mean new stuff.” Lewis is the queen of repurposing the furniture and accessories in your home to make them feel brand new again.
