Cal y Canto: A-TA-KA! workshop and performance Fri 11 Oct 4.30pm – 6pm: workshop, Camden Centre 7.30pm – 8.15pm: performance, Trinity Theatre Gardens Make your own aerial sculpture and perform in the A-TA-KA! show. Come to the Camden Centre after school and explore the air and its possibilities with Spanish theatre company Cal y Canto. Taking inspiration from the dreams of Salvador Dalí, create an aerial animal sculpture using varied disciplines and homespun materials, then rejoin the company at 7.30pm in Trinity’s gardens to be part of the A-TA-KA! performance. He travels; he reads; he studies... This exquisite show is based on the true story of Joachim Ganz, a 16th-century copper smelter, who relentlessly seeks answers to the pressing questions of the day: Is the Earth flat? Are the stars fixed? The award-winning Adventures of Curious Ganz is a wondrous alchemy of the new, the strange, the brave and the curious, told through design, table-top puppetry, words and music. Fri 11 Oct 7.30pm Trinity Theatre Gardens Everyone is invited to Cal y Canto Teatro’s free, magically surreal outdoor show on the theme of ‘air’: a musical spectacle of kites, torches and flying creatures that transform and light up the sky. A-TA-KA!, inspired by the ‘melted dreams’ of Salvador Dalí, has been performed at festivals around the world. We are thrilled to bring this show to the UK for the very first time. Cal y Canto: Lost Dog Sat 12 Oct 10am, 12pm & 3pm Sun 13 Oct 11am & 2pm Trinity Theatre Gardens Young Spanish company Cal y Canto present Lost Dog, an innovative play of puppetry and object theatre: an experience to share with a small, intimate audience. The set is an installation: a large shanty doghouse constructed from recycled materials, with benches for seating.
