F or the last 85 years, JLJ volunteers have worked tirelessly to improve the quality of life of those in our community. We do this by building strong partnerships with community organizations to develop shared solutions that provide better health, education, welfare, and safety for children and youth.
To ensure our service has a maximum and measurable impact, the JLJ identifies critical community needs through an issue-based community impact model approach. Community projects are selected based on projects in the areas that are identified as having the greatest need. Our volunteers are matched with projects in those areas, enabling our members to serve where they can make the most significant impact. Our community impact model aims to support children and their caregivers in the Jackson area to increase student success in three focus areas: academic growth, essential needs, and health and mental well-being.
Our members work year-round with our community partners on more than 30 issue-based projects and initiatives in the Jackson metro area. More than 2,200 members provide more than 55,000 volunteer hours each year, giving time and talents to help build a stronger community. Your support of Mistletoe Marketplace 2025 is crucial to the continued success of the League’s community projects and, ultimately, the thousands of children and youth they benefit.

2025-2026 MISTLETOE MARKETPLACE

did you join JLJ?
I joined the Junior League of Jackson to be a part of something bigger than myself – to serve with women who lead with compassion and put that compassion into action. It’s about giving back to a community I love, and surrounding myself with strong, driven women who are making a real difference in the Jackson metro area. Being part of JLJ has inspired me, challenged me, and reminded me of the power of women coming together with a purpose.
What does this year’s theme, HOLLY JOLLY, mean to you?
HOLLY JOLLY to me, is all about the joy and wonder of the holiday season. Our Mistletoe Marketplace Steering Committee has created an atmosphere at the Mississippi Trade Mart that radiates joy, laughter, and connection. It’s about bringing people together, whether they’re old friends or new faces, and watching them laugh, connect, and make Mistletoe memories. A HOLLY JOLLY Mistletoe embodies heart, happiness, and hope.
What’s your favorite thing about Mistletoe Marketplace?
My favorite thing about Mistletoe Marketplace is the magical moment when the doors open and shoppers walk into the Trade Mart. I love watching their faces light up when they see the decorations for the first time. It’s as if, for a moment, the world slows down and becomes a little more joyful. There’s something so special about seeing old friends run into each other, and behind all of that joy is a team of incredible women who have poured their hearts into every detail. It’s seeing their vision come to life, knowing the late nights and early mornings were worth it, and feeling that energy of a community that comes together to celebrate, give back, and make memories. That’s what makes Mistletoe so magical.
Have you served on the steering committee before? If so, what was your title?
Yes, I served as Decorations Chair in 2021, and the theme was “Oh What Fun!”
Tell us about how you became the Mistletoe Chair and why.
I wanted to be Mistletoe Chair because I believe in the power of women coming together to create something meaningful. Mistletoe is more than an event, it’s a legacy of service, tradition, and community impact. I wanted to be a part of carrying that legacy forward – to work alongside passionate, creative, and driven women who inspire me daily. To help bring joy to shoppers, raise crucial funds for our community, and shine a light on what’s possible when we join forces with purpose. It’s an honor to serve in this role and help make the magic of Mistletoe come to life.
does planning begin for Mistletoe Marketplace, and how many hours will you have put in by the time it is all said and done?
Planning for Mistletoe Marketplace begins years in advance. Long before the doors open and the twinkle lights go up, countless hours are poured into creating this unforgettable experience. Every detail, from the decor to the layouts, from the vendors to the sponsorships, is the result of tireless work by women who believe in something bigger than themselves. It’s a labor of love, a gift to our community, and a beautiful reminder of what can happen when passion, purpose, and teamwork unite.
My favorite Mistletoe memory will always be the moment I stood in center court and watched the construction of the Ferris wheel in 2021. It was bigger than I had ever imagined, and in that moment, I felt a wave of emotion wash over me. All the late nights, the what if’s, the dreaming—it had all led to that. I remember looking around and thinking, “We actually did it.” Not just me, but a team of women who believed in something magical and helped make it happen. That Ferris wheel wasn’t just a decoration; it was a symbol of what’s possible when creativity, courage, and community come together.
Yes, get there early and be ready to spend the whole day in the Mistletoe world! Wear your comfortable shoes, grab your friends or your holiday shopping list, and soak in the festive, HOLLY JOLLY, atmosphere. Take time to stroll aisles, discover new merchants, and don’t miss the special events throughout the day. Enjoy coffee, listen to the music, and let yourself be fully swept up in the holiday magic while supporting our community.

I was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi, and graduated as valedictorian from Saint Joseph Catholic School. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Tougaloo College, summa cum laude, and went on to receive my Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Mississippi School of Law. My legal career began with a clerkship at the Mississippi Supreme Court, and today, I’m a partner at Brown, Bass & Jeter, PLLC, a law firm I co-founded in 2015. I’m also proud to serve as Municipal Judge for the City of Jackson. Outside of my professional life, I’m a parishioner at Saint Richard Catholic Church, and most importantly, a devoted wife to my husband E.J. and proud mom to our daughter, Lorin.
I joined the Junior League of Jackson because I deeply believe in its mission of promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and improving our community. JLJ gives women a platform to lead, grow, and serve—and it’s one of the most empowering, purpose-driven communities I’ve ever been a part of. I’ve seen firsthand the real impact JLJ makes, especially for children and families across Jackson, and I wanted to be part of that legacy.
HOLLY JOLLY is about capturing the true spirit of the season—joy, generosity, nostalgia, and connection. As we celebrate 45 years of Mistletoe Marketplace, this theme is especially meaningful. We’re creating a warm, whimsical holiday atmosphere that invites everyone— from long-time supporters to first-time guests—to experience the magic of Mistletoe. HOLLY JOLLY is festive and familiar and reflects our mission of bringing joy and support to our community.
your favorite thing about Mistletoe Marketplace?
It’s hard to choose just one, but I would say the community it creates. Seeing merchants, volunteers, sponsors, and guests all come together for a common purpose is incredibly special. The excitement when the doors open, the festive energy in the air, and the knowledge that every purchase and every donation help children and families in our community—it’s truly a joyful and meaningful event. Plus, I’ll always be amazed by the transformation of the venue into a holiday wonderland!
Have you served on the steering committee before? If so, what was your title?
Yes, I served as the Merchant Chair for Mistletoe Marketplace 2020. It was a rewarding experience that gave me so much more insight into the immense effort and heart that goes into this event. That year deepened my connection to JLJ and sparked my interest in serving in a greater leadership role for Mistletoe Marketplace.
us about how you became Mistletoe
why.
After serving as Merchant Chair in 2020, I knew I wanted to continue contributing to Mistletoe Marketplace and JLJ in a meaningful way. I was honored to be asked to serve as Co-Chair for 2025, and I gladly accepted. It’s a unique opportunity to give back to the League, utilize my leadership and organizational skills, and collaborate with passionate, service-minded women to create something truly special. I believe in the mission of JLJ and in the power of Mistletoe Marketplace to create real, lasting impact in our city.
When does planning begin for Mistletoe Marketplace, and how many hours will you have put in by the time it is all said and done?
Planning for Mistletoe Marketplace begins more than a year in advance. From selecting the theme to vendor curation, logistics, décor, fundraising, and volunteer coordination—it’s a comprehensive process. By the time the doors open in November, I’ll have put in countless hours, alongside the incredible women on our Steering Committee. It’s truly a labor of love and a team effort from start to finish.
One of my favorite memories is the quiet moment just before the Preview Gala begins. The lights are twinkling, the booths are stocked, the music is just about to start—and there’s this incredible sense of anticipation. It’s a beautiful reminder of the creativity, teamwork, and heart behind the scenes. And then, seeing guests walk in with wonder and excitement—it’s simply magical!
insider tips for Mistletoe
Absolutely! Always buy special event tickets early, if possible — Mistletoe events are some of the most festive of the season and several always sell out. Come early, stay late, and visit all the merchants. And, of course, support the cause—don’t forget that every ticket supports programs and initiatives that benefit the community, including children and families right here in Jackson, Mississippi.

CORPORATE SPONSOR LOUNGE
Rachael Myrick is the owner of Myrick Interior Design—a full-service design firm that specializes in residential, commercial, and healthcare design with an emphasis on luxury new construction projects. Rachael has always had a love for design, but knew she wanted to make a career of it after taking a trip to Europe in high school. Her love of architecture and creating spaces that could be enjoyed for generations led her to pursue a bachelor's degree in interior design from The University of Southern Mississippi. Upon graduation, Rachael moved to Houston, TX and worked with one of Houston's top 10 architecture firms before returning to her Mississippi roots to grow her career in the hospitality industry as a restaurant designer. After 11 years in her role as a restaurant designer, Rachael opened her own design firm which now boasts a studio/ storefront space in Downtown Brandon's Historic District. Her style can be described as classically relevant and incorporates a mix of traditional and transitional ideas.
When asked about designing this year's Corporate Sponsor Lounge Rachael had this to say: "I am honored to be able to return and design a lounge for Mistletoe Marketplace for the third consecutive year! This year my inspiration comes from the color palette used in this year's Mistletoe Marketplace theme. I plan to incorporate the color palette with traditional fabrics and furnishings and create a relaxed and beautiful environment for all who visit the lounge."

2025 TOUCH A TRUCK® JACKSON STEERING COMMITTEE

The Junior League of Jackson is thrilled to welcome 150 new members to the 2025-2026 Provisional class. The Provisional Steering Committee has organized a meaningful year of training aimed at deepening our new members' understanding of the League's rich history, mission, organizational structure, and community impact. This year will culminate in a community project where our Provisional members will partner with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Mississippi to host the fourth annual "Where Hope Grows" farmers market. This community event provides essential food resources to those in need, fun and educational activities, and an opportunity for community fellowship. This intensive year of training and service will equip our Provisionals with the knowledge and leadership skills necessary to thrive as effective community volunteers throughout their membership in the Junior League of Jackson and beyond.
