Hello Emma, I hope your well, My name is Hollie Furniss and I am a student at Nottingham Trent University and I am applying for a work placement within the editorial department of the ASOS magazine. As I am wanting a career in journalism with the aspiration to become a Fashion Features Editor like yourself, I want to join the ASOS family of creatives, for a chance to add my voice to your exciting publication. Firstly, I am already an avid reader of the ASOS magazine online, I think it is a great mix of content, opinion and design. One aspect being a favourite of mine is the news section, because I love to stay in the know on new and exciting people and trends. Even though ASOS isn’t known solely for it’s publishing, the reason I want so much to be part of it is initially down to the modern, charismatic and cheeky attitude ASOS exudes and secondly, down to the ASOS brand work ethics, drive and contemporary, young and fresh outlook on fashion, always keeping things fun and current. For example, the Fashion Finder and Market Place online extensions are really influential, cutting edge progressions which make me certain that ASOS is the place for me and I think I am the employee for ASOS. I have a lot to give and a lot to gain, with an array of current work experience under my belt as well as enthusiasm and drive bursting at the seams I feel given the opportunity I would thrive in the demanding and challenging environment of the ASOS magazine. I am ready and available to start as soon as possible. Attached is my visual CV, something a little different to what your used to but I feel it showcases my attribute far more effectively compared to the standard word document.
