What are other ways to accumulate priority points? Any gift made to the Hokie Club will earn two points for every $100. Other giving opportunities include planned giving, capital projects, scholarship endowments, special projects, and sport specific giving. Please visit us online at hokieclub.com or contact us at (540) 231-6618 if you are interested in any of these avenues of giving.

Q A

Is there any way I can lose my priority points?

All points related to cumulative giving, purchasing postseason or neutral site tickets, membership in the Student Hokie Club, and being a former Virginia Tech letterwinner accumulate over time and will never be

lost. However, points related to consecutive years of giving to the Hokie Scholarship Fund and purchasing season tickets for football, men’s basketball or women’s basketball will be lost if a donor fails to either give or purchase tickets in consecutive given years.

Q A

Can my benefits related to giving and tickets be transferred to someone else? Similar to previous years, all benefits related to donations and tickets (including priority points) can only be transferred to a spouse. No other immediate family members, friends, or other entities will qualify for a transfer of donor or ticket benefits.

Q A

Will there be special programs available to assist me with this transitional process? Yes. The Hokie Club is committed to providing you with as much assistance as you may need to understand the options that will best meet your needs and desires. The options available to you include attending a local town hall informational meeting, webinars, visiting hokieclub.com, and/or contacting the Hokie Club via email at hokieclub@vt.edu or phone at (540) 231-6618.

Q

I’m not interested in purchasing season tickets, but I still want to help; why should I donate to the Hokie Scholarship Fund?

A

It will take support from all of Hokie Nation to help Virginia Tech Athletics grow and be recognized as one of the premier athletics departments in the country. The more support provided, the better resources we are able to provide our student-athletes to help prepare them to be Champions for Life. If you cannot make it to any athletic contests, a great way to show your Hokie pride is by donating to the Hokie Scholarship Fund.

Q A

Is my contribution to the Hokie Club tax deductible? Yes. All gifts made to the Hokie Club that receive benefits (by purchasing tickets and parking) are 80 percent tax deductible per IRS regulations. Gifts can be made 100 percent tax deductible if the donor chooses to waive any and all benefits associated with the gift (Including season tickets and parking).
