SEASON OUTLOOK The Hokies had a strong end to the 2016-17 season, advancing to the WNIT quarterfinals under the direction of first-year head coach Kenny Brooks. Tech will look to build on that momentum heading into the 2017-18 campaign. Tech returns a young team, including standout juniors Chanette Hicks and Regan Magarity. The pair led the Hokies in 2016-17 and is poised to continue adding their names to the Virginia Tech record books. Junior Rachel Camp will also be back on the court after being sidelined by injury last season. Sophomore Kendyl Brooks returns after setting the freshman 3-point record with 62. Kaela Kinder, Erinn Brooks and Diandra DaRosa will be back for 2017-18 and will be joined by Michelle Berry and Erin Garner, who will take the court after sitting out last year because of NCAA transfer rules. The Hokies will add five players for the upcoming season, including high school All-American Aisha Sheppard, JUCO National Player of the Year Taylor Emery and JUCO All-American Alexis Jean. Joining them are Sierra Votaw and Celeste Akoro.
