Elaine M. Colavito Partner, Sahn Ward Coschignano, PLLC President, Nassau County Women’s Bar Association In 2017, she was named a Trailblazer in Divorce by The National Law Journal, and received the Top 50 Women in Business and Leadership in Law awards from Long Island Business News. In 2018, she received Hofstra Law’s Outstanding Women in Law and Long Island Business News’ Top 50 Women in Business Awards.

Elaine M. Colavito is a Partner at Sahn Ward Coschignano, PLLC, concentrating her practice in matrimonial and family law, immigration, trusts and estates, and civil litigation.

Ms. Colavito is President of the Nassau County Women’s Bar Association, also serving the Association as President-elect (2017-2018), Vice President (20152017), Treasurer (2013-2015), and Board of Directors member (2012-2013). She received the Association’s Bessie Ray Geffner, Esq. Memorial Award for demonstrated interest in improving the justice system, professionalism and service.

She writes a monthly column for The Suffolk Lawyer, a Suffolk County Bar Association publication. She has also lectured before the NYSBA Young Lawyers section, and in a paralegal program.

Ms. Colavito is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association, the Nassau County Bar Association, and the Nassau County Columbian Lawyers. She graduated summa cum laude from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and magna cum laude, in the top 6% of her class, from Touro Law Center.

From 2014 to 2017, she was named to Super Lawyers’ Rising Stars (Family Law), and was among the 20152017 Super Lawyers’ Top Women Lawyers in New York.
