BACKGROUND OF HKIAF

《香港新概念藝術節》的前身為

《不貧窮藝術節》X 香港。由晨刻藝術 策劃有限公司(前身三木劇作)的藝術 總監林倩嬌小姐於 2018 年開始策劃， 至2021 年一共於香港舉辦了三屆。

晨刻藝術策劃有限公司成立

於2019 年，前身三木劇作則成立於

2011年，為正式註冊的非牟利劇團。

三木劇作於過往多年主力於文字及戲劇

創作，並於發展期間不斷牽涉更廣泛的 藝術範疇，包括到外國參與交流活動及 策劃《不貧窮藝術節》X 香港等。有見 劇團架構不斷擴展，一個以演出劇團為

主的章程已未能把所有活動計劃涵蓋在 內，故團隊決定於 2019 年成立新公司 — 晨刻藝術策劃有限公司。

《不貧窮藝術節》X香港是一個非 常獨特的藝術節。身為藝術團體，我們

知道在香港做藝術很不容易，光是第一 步租用場地已不容易，而且所費不菲。

所以我們的理念就是以最實在的協助方

法 — 免費提供場地、免費基本器材、

免費宣傳、印刷、票務及行政協助等

等，讓藝術家能有一個專心和自由創作

的空間和展現平台。我們亦會把演出門 票收入全數歸於藝術家，以支持藝術家

的創作生活，使作品得以延續和發展。

我們亦和多個社區小店和組織合作， 形成香港的社區藝術力量。

在過去三屆藝術節期間，《不貧窮

藝術節》X香港通過招募，合共與超過 60個藝術團體合作，吸引超過5500名

香港觀眾參與。經過三屆的經驗累積，

為了配合本地藝術家的需要，我們決定

轉型為《香港新概念藝術節》，希望製

作一個以藝穗節形式為主的策展型藝術

節，鼓勵更多藝術家從小型製作出發，

以全新概念開始創作的第一步。

Hong Kong Ideation Arts Festival (HKIAF) is a rebranding of Let’s beTogether Arts Festival x Hong Kong (LBTAFHK), curated by Cathy SK LamPatrie, the artistic director of Kairos Arts Development, since 2018.

Kairos Arts Development Company Limited was established in 2019 and our predecessor company was ThreeWoods Playwright was officially registered as a non-profit theatre company in Hong Kong and established in 2011.ThreeWoods Playwright was focuses on text-based theatre, admires the beauty of text and respects any text. We have established Kairos because of the restructuring of the company from theater producing to art curating. Our projects including Let's Be Together Arts Festival, Overseas exchange scheme like Adelaide Fringe Touring Award and Itoshima Art Residency.

LBTAFHK is a very unique arts festival. As art practitioners, we are aware that it is not easy to survive in the industry. Even with basics like venue rental, prices are not something that most

artists can easily afford. Our concept is to provide in the most practical way – free venue, free basic equipment, free promotion, printings, tickets and administration support, etc. We want to build a platform for artists that allows them to focus on arts and creativity. In addition, 100% of ticket and art sales go to the artists’ pockets in order to promote their self-sustainability. We also collaborate with local stores and organizations to support and strengthen the local arts community.

In the past few years, LBTAFHK has worked with more than 60 arts organizations and has attracted over 5,500 audience participants. Based on our experience and evaluation from the previous festivals, we decided to rebrand the festival as Hong Kong Ideation Arts Festival so that we can build an arts festival that best suits the needs of local artists. We want to curate an arts festival that focuses on fringe production, prepares artists for fringe touring, and supports creativity and innovation.

HKIAF is a curated arts festival. Applicant MUST apply as an individual, and the main production team including performers cannot be more than four people.

藝術節，報名者須以個人名義參節，並 以不多於4人的主要團隊製作演出。

人數限制除了是希望迎合香港本地 藝術界的需要，為更多優秀的小型甚至 是個人藝術團體提供更多機會外，根據

以往經驗，我們認為與小型團隊進行交 流和創作探討時往往能夠更加深入和聚 焦，可以提供更多意見以協助藝術家提 升作品水平。再者，由於我們的藝術節 設有外國藝穗節交流獎項，而外國藝穗

有公平的獲獎機會，因此決定劃一參節 要求。亦希望藉此鼓勵香港的藝術家

發揮創意，以創意打破「大製作才是 最好」的想法，以新意念突圍而出。

在《香港新概念藝術節》中，我們 將以最實在的協助方法 — 免費提供演

出場地、基本器材、技術支援、宣傳、 印刷、票務及行政等協助，讓藝術家 有一個專心和自由創作的展現平台。

每位藝術家將有兩場公開演出的機會，

而所有門票收入將全數歸於該藝術家，

主辦單位不會收取任何費用。

The purpose of the limit on the number of people is to fit the needs of the local arts industry, providing more opportunities for individual artists and small art companies. As per our past experience, it is easier to build a prolonged dialogue and focused discussion with small art groups. Through discussion, we are able to provide relevant support and suggestions to produce better artwork. In addition, we have different arts exchange awards with overseas fringe festivals, for which small groups tend to have a better chance of being selected. In order to offer a fairer award opportunity to all participants, we decided to limit the number of people. We want to re-sign the idea that “only big productions are good productions” and focus on ideas and creativity.

Our concept is to provide in the most practical way: free venue, free basic equipment, free promotion, printings, tickets and administration support, etc.

We want to build a platform for artists that allows them to focus on arts and creativity. Every artist will get to perform two shows. In addition, 100% of ticket and art sales go to the artists’ pockets in order to promote their self-sustainability. There is no hidden administrative charge.

This year in HKIAF, we hope to kick-start the dialogue between artists and audiences again through our theme, “Reflect, Restructure, Rebuild, I.”

Kairos Arts Development Company Limited was established in 2019 and has become an approved charitable donation under section 88 of the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Ordinance. Our service target is mainly artists and the community. Our predecessor company was ThreeWoods Playwright,* and we have established Kairos because of the restructuring of the company from theatre producing to art curating.

*Established in April 2011, which focuses on text-based theatre, admires the beauty of text and respects any

text. In September 2011, ThreeWoods Playwright was officially registered as a non-profit theatre company in Hong Kong. We believe in GOD, humanity, and theatre. Every artist is unique and differs during the creative process. For those 9 artists who are selected and invited to participate in the festival are required to exhibit their creative process alongside their performance, as long as audiences get to understand how they create.

ARTISTIC DIRECTOR’S WORD BY CATHY LAM-PATRIE

過去十年一直在外國藝穗節遊走， 看見外國年輕藝術工作者都會努力儕身 藝穗節的平台練功作業，期待在藝穗節 中讓觀眾或業界看見。很多世界級藝術 家就是在愛丁堡藝穗節起家，及後一步 步在藝壇大放異彩。 這十年間，我一 直提問：為何香港鮮見這樣的平台，或 是鮮見年輕藝術家願意走上這些平台？ 尤其在表演藝術上，為何只見零星的獨 腳演出？就算有，也多數是劇場前輩 「回歸劇場起點」之演出。很多人認為， 以自己名字主打旗號做創作是很冒險的 事；是一件需要很多勇氣和信心才可以 做到的事情，當中他們所承受的是別人 的眼光和閒言閒語。

當然很多老師都會提醒學生：「愛你 心中的藝術，不是藝術中的自己。」

這裡所提出的是要提醒年輕藝術工作者

不要將個人名利放於藝術之前，將心思 意念放於藝術水平的追求上；而不是限 制藝術工作者建立個人風格或屬於自己

的藝術作品。在香港這個講求團隊整體 健全的環境，年輕人難免覺得發揮空間

能獨當一面，我總是覺得是時候騰出 位置讓他們閃耀發光。

每個年代，年輕藝術家缺乏的總是

資源和平台。因為這樣的原故，我們在 五年前開始了不貧窮藝術節，希望籍著

不貧窮藝術節提供多方支援，好讓藝術 家能在沒有票房壓力下專注於自己的作 品，以及為他們提供可以到海外藝術節 演出的機會。經歷四年三屆的藝術節， 我們從善如流，檢討怎樣可以建立一個 更適合香港藝術家的平台，而同時能讓

他們更有勇氣走出舒適圈，敢於在他們 的作品中建立「我」，讓人看見及聽見 「我」。而「我」可以不斷反思、構作、

重建，成為一個更好的藝術家，以他們

的作品對人民關懷有更廣闊的想像， 對城市對世界能夠有更自在及當下的 回應。 於是，香港新概念藝術節便出

現了。以前三屆不貧窮藝術節提供的

資源為基礎，香港新概念藝術節希望能 更重視每一位藝術工作者的獨立存在，

讓他們說出屬於自己的故事。

I have been traveling to different fringe festivals all over the world over the past ten years. I have seen young artists using fringe festivals as a platform to learn, to develop their skills and thrive, and to be seen and heard. Many world-class artists started their careers at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and then made their mark in the industry step by step. In the past ten years, I have been asking: Why are there so few such platforms in Hong Kong? And why are so few young artists willing to step into these platforms? Especially in the performing arts, why are there so few solo performances – most of which are performed by experienced artists who want to take the chance to go back to the basics? Many people think that it is very risky to create their own artwork and build their own name. It takes a lot of courage and confidence to do it, and endure the eyes of criticism.

Mentors often remind their mentees: “Love the art in yourself, not yourself in the art.” This is to remind young artists to not put vanity before art and become consumed in pursuing better art; this statement does not mean they should limit themselves, keep from building their own style or block themselves from making their own artwork. In Hong Kong, a place so focused on ensemble work, many young people think there is not much space to thrive or even survive. Time passes by, and they lose their motivation and confidence to express “I”. Whenever I have a chance to start a dialogue with a young artist, I remember that each of them is so unique in their

In every generation – as cliche as it is to say – what young artists lack are resources and platforms. And because of this, we started the Let’s be Together Arts Festival x Hong Kong (LBTAFHK). Through the festival, we provide all kinds of support so artists can focus on their work instead of worrying about ticket sales. We also provide overseas performance opportunities. After three festivals in four years, we collected comments from different parties and sat down to reevaluate and reimagine. We want to design a better festival to encourage individual artists to take a chance to step out of their comfort zones, to become willing to show the world the “I” in their work, and to have the freedom to showcase a better and broader imagination of humanity. Hence, the Hong Kong Ideation Arts Festival (HKIAF). With the resources provided by LBTAF as a foundation, HKIAF is a space to honor the existence of each artist, and a platform to let each one be their own storyteller.

一切，彷彿對生活失去了知覺。上帝

有見及此，打算修正過錯，於是掏出了

一個精美的「百子櫃」，裏面盛載了

One day, God accidentally created an overly mediocre protagonist. The protagonist believes he is ordinary since he was a child, he is depressed and feels hopeless about life. He is always fooling around, as if he has lost consciousness of life. To transform this guy’s life, God gives him an exquisite "Hundred Drawers Cabinet", which contains different "Fun Tips Bags". God randomly draws the bags and gives them to the protagonist, hoping to transform the protagonist's attitude towards life. The protagonist uses the bags inadvertently, out of his expectation, he discovers that everyone has the ability to discover life, taste the happiness of life, and find their own "extraordinary" journey.

甜蜜井這主題名字源自於托爾斯泰 <懺悔錄>書中的故事，有關故事和 其日後的延伸深刻地影響着我的世界 觀和創作內容。而今次展覽作品在這個 故事的基礎上，圍繞存在和虛無主義探 討，表現出隱藏現實中的真實世界以及 其中的瘋狂。

我們被鎖著鐵鏈，但一直找尋自由

的出口；雖然像薛西弗斯，但一直思考

自身的意義。荒謬的世界並不代表絕 望，更可以代表自由。是次展覽希望觀 者能從荒謬中找到清醒與自由。

The name of the exhibition "Sweet Well" comes from the little story in Tolstoy's "The Confession". The story and its extension have profoundly influenced my worldview and the content of creations. On the basis of this story, the works in this exhibition revolve around existentialism and nihilism, showing the real world which hides behind reality and the madness in it.

We are chained, but looking for the way of freedom; although like Sisyphus, we still think about the meaning of existence. The absurd world doesn’t represent despair, but freedom. I hope viewers can find sobriety and freedom from absurdity.

搞笑、幽默的小丑表演。本次的 創作靈感源於聖經《約拿書》。

主角小丑約拿收到上帝的任務，

就是去尼尼微城勸告「曳到出汁」的小丑 尼尼微人悔改，否則四十天後，上帝會

令尼尼微城滅亡。但約拿選擇逃跑， 不執行上帝給他的任務……

故事講述約拿由逃避到悔改，當中

經歷過被深海大魚吞進肚內，最後完成 上帝的任務。這班尼尼微人和約拿如何

的「曳」，令上帝蔘茶也要「飲兩劑」呢？

拭目以待。

A clown show full of fun and humour.

The inspiration of this show comes from the Bible story, "Jonah.” Jonah the clown received God’s calling to go to the City of Nineveh to persuade the Nineveh clowns to repent; or God will destroy the City in 40 days. However, Jonah fled from God and His mission.....

This story covers the course of events from Jonah’s escaping to repenting; he was swallowed by a big fish and stuck in the deep water, and finally Jonah responded to his calling and accomplished God's mission for him.

Being irritated and upset by the Ninevites clowns and Jonah, God might need extra doses of ginseng tea. It is a story full of laughter and affection, we hope you enjoy the show.

當人漂浮在「自己」這片宇宙裡的

Since 2014, about 140,000 migrants in Hong Kong have obtained Hong Kong ID cards and become "Hong Kong drifters". In 2019, the number soared to 300,000. But in an alienated dimension, "Hong Kong Drifters" may be 1 million, 2 million, or even 7 million?

When a person is floating in the universe of "self", he is always a stranger, and his soul is greedily looking for a place to live, but failed eventually. Embracing, integrating, healing, and metamorphosis, what is the real connection between us and the outside world? How does it conciliate, entangle, and co-exist with us? We will use real stories to discuss "floating".

畢業於北京語言大學英文系、香港 中文大學文化管理系，現於香港演藝 學院修讀戲劇教育（碩士四年級），從事 戲劇教育、表演工作約五年，於中、 小學兼職教授戲劇課程以及私人 普通話、戲劇課程。

主要的創作類型為文化、性別以 及社會議題相關的多語種應用劇場， 常參與社區劇場、帶領非專業演員共同 進行戲劇創作。

Graduated from the English Department of Beijing Language and Culture University and the Department of Cultural Management of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, she is currently studying drama and theatre education at the Hong Kong Academy for the Performing Arts (Master's Year 4). She has been engaged in drama education and performance for five years as well as Mandarin, drama courses.

Her production mainly focuses on multilingual applied theatre related to culture, gender and social issues. She often participates in community theatre and leads non-actors into drama world.

The programme “Keep Quiet”, starting from a scenario-based query, explores the boundary of making voice in theatre. Drawing upon Henri Lefebvre's spatial theory as an inspiration for this creative research, “Keep Quiet” seeks to observe the transformation of everyday behaviours embedded in a theatrical context, and through this, represents the imaginative tipping point between quietness and commotion. Cross-disciplinary artist Hau Yik-laam partners with sound artist Lam Yip to conduct live performance and a series of improvisational actions as a means to open up possibilities for communication.

關於香港一些尋常老人和他們不為 人知的故事。

在這個不眠不休的城市裡，時時刻 刻都有事情發生，許多故事等待述說。

結婚離婚，種種八卦，奢華生活都是 新聞。關於名人的事情總是不絕於耳。

但那些我們所不知道的人和故事呢？ 難道就得他們沉寂消逝嗎？

街上撿紙皮，靠一雙手勞動糊口的 老婆婆，她的辛酸我們並不了解；我們 也沒聽過一個老人想要重建一座廟，

The untold stories of some little-known elderly Hong Kong people.

In this city that never sleeps, there’s always something happening, tales waiting to be told. We often hear on the news what happens to important famous people, their marriages, divorces and their lavish lifestyles. What about the stories that we don’t hear? Do we let those stories fade into the nether with whom the stories belong?

Rarely do we hear about the struggles of an old lady who goes along the streets collecting cardboard boxes to provide for herself with her two own hands. Nor do we hear about an old man who wants to rebuild a temple as it was a safe haven for him during the Second World War. The aim of this exhibition is to share some of the stories and life lessons from a few of Hong Kong’s older generation.

Why the elderly? Because they’ve lived longer, seen more and have more life experience.

我不過是個業餘攝影師，希望用 攝影來幫別人找到和展現自己的聲音。 我越來越喜歡攝影。我打算集中以菲林 相片來建構是次展覽。我希望透過這 種媒介與我的主題建立更深的連結， 並且呈現一種懷舊的視覺情懷。

我不是在香港成長，然而，我愛這 座城市，並一直想要和在這裡生活的人 們建立更深入的連結。我發現不少老人 家都非常健談，如果有人樂意聆聽。

I’m just an amateur photographer who wants to help people find a voice through my artform, photography. I’ve grown ever fonder of photography and will intend for the exhibition to comprise only of film photography. I’m hoping this medium will allow me to connect on a deeper level with my subjects as well as giving a more vintage look.

I did not grow up in Hong Kong. However, I love this city and am always looking to make a deeper connection with the people living in it. I’ve found that some elderly can be very talkative when someone is willing to listen.

之華 SORAYA CHAU

畢業於英國諾桑比亞大學社會工作 學士，倫敦音樂劇學院及皇家中央 演講和戲劇學院音樂劇專業文憑。現為 自由身舞台劇演員、舞者、歌手。2021年 以獨立藝術家身份，創作的獨腳音樂 形體劇場《人魚的聲音》，入選不貧窮 藝術節 X 香港的參演劇目，並獲得 Adelaide Tour Ready Award藝術交流 大獎，受邀在2023年代表香港參於 澳洲阿德萊德藝穗節。

After graduating with a BSc in Social Work from Northumbria University, UK, and receiving a professional diploma in Musical Theatre from the London School of Musical Theatre and Central School of Speech and Drama, Soraya currently works as a freelance theatre actor, dancer, and singer. In 2021, as an independent artist, she created the one-woman physical music theatre piece “Voices of a Siren,” which was selected to perform at the “Let’s Be Together Arts Fest” and “Art Options Women’s Festival.” The performance was awarded the Adelaide Tour Ready Award for artistic exchange and represented Hong Kong at the Adelaide Fringe Festival in 2023.

交代的資訊及註腳。愛麗絲劇場實驗室 藝術總監陳恆輝別樹一格的劇場美學與 語言，以及其對音樂的追求反映在其劇場 作品中；他的音樂同時回應著他在劇場中 所鋪設的符號及反思。新概念藝術節有 幸邀請他來談談劇場與音樂的關係，以及 如何運用音樂來說故事。

Many theater artists use music in theater to create ambience, but ignore the possibility of using music to convey information. Andrew Chan, Artistic Director of Alice Theatre Laboratory, has developed a unique theater aesthetic and language, and his pursuit of music is reflected in his theater works. His music is symbolic and is part of his theater signature. HKIAF is honored to invite him to talk about the relationship between theater and music, and how to use music for storytelling.

愛麗絲劇場實驗室藝術總監。畢業於香港演藝學 院戲劇學院，主修導演，獲頒藝術學士（榮譽）學位， 並憑畢業作品《浮石傳》獲得校內傑出導演獎。2009年 憑《卡夫卡的七個箱子》獲得「第十八屆香港舞台劇獎」 最佳導演獎（悲劇／正劇）及「第一屆香港小劇場獎」最佳 導演獎。2013年憑《終局》獲得「第五屆香港小劇場獎」 最佳導演獎。近期作品包括：《安東尼亞陶的一生》； 《老婦還鄉記》以及《一齣如夢幻的戲劇》。

現任香港藝術發展局審批員（藝術評論、藝術教育、 戲劇）。

Artistic Director of the Alice Theatre Laboratory, graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) with a BFA (Hons) in Directing and was awarded Outstanding Director from the Academy for his graduation production Woyzeck. In 2009, CHAN was awarded Best Director (Tragedy/Drama) in the 18th Hong Kong Drama Awards and in the 1st Hong Kong Theatre Libre with Seven Boxes Possessed of Kafka. With 1001 Nights of Pasolini, CHAN was also nominated for Best Director in the 3rd Hong Kong Theatre Libre. In 2013, CHAN was awarded Best Director in the 5th Hong Kong Theatre Libre with Endgame.

陳廣揚博士生於香港，為旅美作曲

家。2023年榮獲OPERA America IDEA Grant去寫作他第一部歌劇。2015年更

獲美國交響爵士樂團（Symphonic Jazz Orchestra）頒發ASCAPGeorge Duke

委託創作大獎，其筆下的Denali World於

2017年首演，奠定了他在爵士音樂創作

領域中的地位。他勇奪2011年荷蘭ArtEZ

爵士作曲比賽的冠軍，並於同年五月在

洛杉磯創立「陳廣揚爵士大樂團」

In Hong Kong, the name ‘MouseFX’ is synonymous with Cantonese Reggae, as the Hong Kong-based singer-songwriter combines the essence of the ‘music of love and humanity’ with his mother tongue. Active in the local scene since the 1990s, MouseFX started out in historical reggae bands including Sensi Lion, before going solo in 2015. True to the Rastafarian spirit, his music addresses the values of love, humanity and justice –especially in the context of Hong Kong.

Over the years, MouseFX has shared his signature sound across South China and international festivals. Besides frequent crossovers with international labels, MouseFX had a trip in Jamaica in February 2019, he recorded an EP "Mousefx In Jamaica", produced by "Skunga" Kong. The EP (12" Vinyl available) was released on 4th Sept 2020.

的展演。TEFO 在這新常態的趨勢下，積極 地建構一個「實驗室」基地，讓工作者在此

實驗線上線下跨界互動的應用劇場實踐之

餘，亦引入嚴謹的紀錄及存檔來整理實驗 過程中的材料，為本地業界累積參考。

是次分享會邀請了過去一年參與了

TEFO 「應用劇場What’s Next？實驗室」

的應用劇場工作者，分享實驗的歷程與 學習所得。並與觀眾一起交流，探索科技 結合應用劇場藝術的不同點子。

Under the rapid technological changes in recent years, an increasing number of applied theatre practitioners are trying to include online elements in applied theatre projects. In response to this new trend, TEFO is proactively building a platform for experiment, encouraging applied theatre practitioners to explore the combination of online and offline elements in applied theatre projects. TEFO has also introduced and archives reflective practice in the process, and contributes to the local industry knowledge and experience.

In this sharing session, applied theatre practitioners who participated in TEFO's "Applied Theatre What's Next?" projects were invited to share their experience and learning. We will focus on sharing how technologies could be incorporated with applied theatre art.

藝術家簡介 PROFILE

先獲應用劇場與戲劇教育專業文憑，國立台南大學戲 劇創作及應用學系研究所深造，獲藝術學碩士。一直致力 於透過劇場這個神奇的空間和一眾參與者一起探索，一起 在小故事中找到大道理。現任多間藝術教育機構的課程 設計、統籌及導師，為不同人士實踐應用劇場的工作。

Rosa is a professional applied theatre educator. Her primary goal is to construct meanings with participants in dramatic context. She has graduated from Hong Kong Art School with Professional Diploma of Applied Theatre and Drama Education and National University of Tainan with a degree of Master of Arts in Drama Creation and Application.

She is currently a course designer, coordinator and instructor of several arts education institutions, working in various applied theatre projects.

畢業於香港藝術學院舉辦之「應用劇場及戲劇教育專 業文憑」課程，亦分別於香港樹仁大學及香港演藝學院， 取得新聞及傳播高級文憑及藝術學士（主修表演），及後 亦於香港都會大學修畢小學教育文憑。

Freddie曾策劃及帶領不同主題的戲劇教育工作坊， 主題包括性教育、欺凌、生命教育、自我認識、夢想等。

Freddie 亦以戲劇教育教授小學童書，以生動有趣的方法 帶領同學進入童書世界。

Freddie還是一位資深劇場工作者，曾為不同年齡的 朋友導演超過30個演出。

Freddie graduated from Professional Diploma of Applied Theatre and Drama Education of Hong Kong Arts School, Bachelor Art (Drama) of Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts , Journalism and Communication(High Diploma) of Hong Kong Shue Yan University. He is also a qualified Primary Teacher.

Ginny Tam is an applied theater practitioner and educator. She graduated with a Master of International and Public Relations from the University of Hong Kong, and was awarded the Excellence Award in the Professional Diploma in Applied Theater and Drama Education of the Hong Kong Arts School. With the support of Chevening Scholarship, she was also awarded a master's degree in applied theater (majoring in community and drama education) at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London, UK.

Ginny is the manager of TEFO, she also participates in the planning, facilitator and teaching artist of various applied theater projects. She is interested in various themes, especially: sex/gender exploration, human and nature, well-being and value education. At the same time, she is the convener and creative artist of TEFO’s "Applied Theater What's Next?".

In Hong Kong, a place so focused on ensemble work, how does one develop his or her path as an artist? Does Hong Kong need individual artists? In this roundtable, the Hong Kong Ideation Arts Festival invited three individual artists from different media to have a dialogue about their own paths as artists, how they continue to develop their own art language and signature in their environment, and ups and downs in the arts industry.

香港粵國語雙語專業話劇、影視演員。國家二級演 員、中國戲劇家協會會員、世界文學與比較文學碩士， 國家語委普通話評核一級水平。曾任香港話劇團全職演 員22載，五度獲香港舞台劇頒獎典禮提名並四次獲獎； 包括於2020年榮獲舞台劇頒獎典禮最佳男主角、以及 IATC（HK）「國際演藝家協會」頒授「年度最佳演員獎」， 2020年憑《Big Meal》榮獲中國第四屆華語戲劇盛典提 名年度最佳男主角，2021年聯袂劉心悠、郭羡妮、柏天 男主演ViuTV 30集連續劇《冥冥之中》飾演明總一角。 獲「香港藝術節」邀請，於2023年主演張達明編劇導演 的舞台劇《無愛末戀》。

ilingual (Mandarin and Cantonese) actor / voice actor / dubbing director in Hong Kong. Jason is a National Second Class Actor and Master Degree holder in Comparative Literature (Major in Film). He received the first-level standard in Mandarin by the National Language Commission. Served as a full-time actor of the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre for 22 years and played countless roles. Jason was nominated for five times at the Hong Kong Drama Awards and won three awards; including winning the Best Actor at the Drama Awards Ceremony in 2020, and IATC (HK) "International Association of Performers" Awarded the "Best Actor of the Year Award."

Jason is a well-known professional Cantonese and Mandarin bilingual voice-over talent in Hong Kong, he participated in over hundred government promotional videos and TV commercials dubbing. He was also invited by most of the publishing companies in Hong Kong to record Chineselanguage teaching materials in Mandarin and Cantonese for primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong.

A Hong Kong-based organization that was launched in April 2021 with the objective of promoting jazz music in Hong Kong. The organization aims to educate people on jazz music and support local jazz musicians in their original compositions and performances.

In its first year of operation, from 2021 to 2022, Fountain was still a passion project focused on social media content creation and held small events such as jam sessions, listening sessions, and performances in collaboration with local livehouse called wontonmeen. These events were organized as a passion project to promote jazz music in the local community.

From 2023 onwards, Fountain has expanded its reach and now has its own venue

Naamyam is a kind of traditional song sung in Cantonese. Instead of music notation, naamyam singers are able to sing from the text. In this workshop, participants will learn the musical form and structure of naamyam. Each participant will set a line of naamyam text to music, which will then be performed by the instructors.

亞沙拉圖 Asalato 源於西非國家迦納（Ghana）， 為迦納傳統舞蹈 Ewe Dance 的伴奏樂器之一。

掌上樂器亞沙拉圖結構輕巧，以短繩來連結兩顆 非洲植物鼻煙盒樹果實，再填入不同材質（種子、膠珠）， 能同時發出沙沙聲與敲擊聲。玩法利用甩動與拋抓方式 使果實相互撞擊發出聲響，多種聲響交錯，形成獨有 節奏聲音。

Asalato 玩法簡單，輕易掌握。能同時鍛練左右手 協調能力、肌力、節奏感。適合不同年齡人仕參與。 在工作坊中，參加者可以體驗製作一對屬於自己的 亞沙拉圖， 我們將會講解樂器歷史與發展、並傳授遊玩 方法與節奏技巧。誠邀你一起來創造屬於自己的節奏 !

A small maraca type shaker called asalato (a-slato) in Ghana, where we import from, it is a simple musical instrument played throughout Africa. Goes by many names such as Kla Kla Rhythm Shakers, Kashaka, Aslatua, Asalato, Cascas, Televi, etc.Two small shells from the oncoba spinosa tree are filled with seeds and attached to both ends of a flexible cord. In playing, one of the pods is held in the palm with the cord going between the first and middle fingers, the other pod is flipped around and caught with the little finger. It makes a clacking sound when the two pods contact and a shake sound (more natural than western plastic “egg shakers”) when shaken.

Known by a number of other names including; kosika, kashaka, televi, two ball on a string, african egg shaker, etc., The simplicity of this instrument can be deceiving when in both hands of a skilled player.

腔棘 COELACANTH

腔棘Coelacanth 是一隊三人世界

民族樂器組合。 常用樂器包括澳洲吹管

（Didgeridoo）、囗弦及手碟（Handpan） 等眾多世界民族樂器。

腔棘Coelacanth 由駱正男（Felix）

及林煒陽（Victor）成立於2015年。友好 孔令智（Travis）於2020年加入成為第三 成員。腔棘最初以街頭表演（Busking）

型式活動。隨著緣份，腔棘曾到過劇場、 學校、社區和不同的藝術節，與各種表現

媒介和創作人碰撞交流。發展出多元及 具即興性的聲音特質。希望透過原始的 民族樂器及其背後深厚的智慧，來探索 聲音和音樂的可能性。

Coelacanth is a street ethnic instruments /world music trio which performs with Didgeridoo,Mouth harp and Handpan etc.

Coelacanth was formed by Felix Lok and Victor Lam in 2015. As a friend Travis Hung joined, Coelacanth have become a trio since 2020. The group began making music from busking in the streets,and started to participate in different theater plays, workshops, sharing and art jamming,etc. Coelacanth has built up interactive and improvised performing styles throughout the years.Continuing to discover new possibilities of sound and music,through learning from primitive musical instruments and their wisdoms.

The name Coelacanth is inspired by an ancient order of fish, coelacanth.which was believed to be extinct. Coelacanths actually survived through the past 4 billion years. Acting as a witness of time and evolution.

The nature of Coelacanth is similar to the order of coelacanth fish. The ethnic music they love is considered obscure and absent, but in reality there is still an active medium of ancient stories and wisdom.
