The Indiana University LifeLine Helicopter is scheduled to land in the park and the Jordan Manufacturing replica train will be on hand to give free rides. Hayseed the clown will be on hand to entertain both adults and the children. In the afternoon, Pastime, a ‘rock and roll band’ will entertain the crowd with 60’s and 70’s music. About 200 volunteers support this effort, and most goods and services will be donated. Janet Dold, the Director of the Monticello Chamber of Commerce states: “This event is the largest event in Monticello and has been growing every year.” Monticello mayor Ken Houston said it best: “This is the only event of its kind in the State of Indiana. What makes it even more spectacular is the simple fact that everything is free. Corporate and local donors underwrite all expense and provide all food, games and entertainment to not only the veterans but for the general public as well. This event certainly speaks volumes about patriotism and American values.” Page 34
