n this November edition, everyone in the team at The Complex Magazine want our readers to know and fall in love with one of the most tourist cities in the world, Miami; located in South Florida, has a warm and pleasant weather during 12 months of the year. Being different from all other American cities, Miami has beautiful and famous beaches. Besides the sea and the white sand, it has places for different tastes, styles and preferences. Tourists can enjoy the environment in the Everglades National Park, have a coffee or a tropical cocktail at the bars in South Beach, have fun with natural wonders in Biscayne National Park, get in direct contact with the animals at Jungle Island , spend an afternoon on the terraces of Ocean Drive, or learn about the history of Art Deco architecture. In this edition we inform you about the different activities planned for this month and what places to go to have the best experience in this American city. We want our readers and all tourists visiting Miami to have a comfortable stay in this city of sun and sand; and we know, without any doubt, they will enjoy an unforgettable tropical paradise.

South Beach is one of the most famous places in North America: museums, parties, fashion, bars, clubs, art, and beach come together to give the best sight and offer genuine stay on this site. Participants shared energizing 90 minutes showing their enthusiasm and acceptance to the activity. ALDO GARCIA and FIT HAYDEE are the instructors, with the special participation of Janaina Da Silva. The Hotel facilities are the perfect setting for this successful and praised event. This constituted the second of its kind and is part of a series of activities that will be offered periodically in the HOTEL facilities and has as main objective to “inform and encourage HEALTHY LIVING habits in pleasant surroundings” as defined Haydee Farrera LEADER COACH of this project and who is responsible for developing plans to achieve it.

est known as the Thanksgiving Dinner, Thanksgiving Day is a traditional celebration in the United States where families gather to give thanks to God, and also to celebrate the opening of the Christmas celebration. It’s been 393 years after the first celebration of Thanksgiving Day in the United States; It was a three days party in the Plymouth Colony and it has been remembered in history year after year because solidarity and gratitude are the main characters. At that time, the colonists went hungry during the winter, and then in the spring, the Indians taught them how to grow food, to fish and hunt. This act save them and the colonists in the fall, grew the best crops to feed their hunger. They, grateful to the Indians, invited them to share a delicious feast. Americans yearn to celebrate this special time alongside their families. At dinner prevail seasonal food. The most famous traditional dish is the roast turkey stuffed with a mixture of bread, herbs and minced meat; accompanied by a delicious cranberry sauce. It’s time to enjoy this traditional festival and share a warm family dinner next to a glass of wine, traditional food, and Christmas music.

ás conocida como la Cena de Acción de Gracias, el Thanksgiving Day es una tradicional celebración de Estados Unidos donde las familias se reúnen para darle gracias a Dios y sobre todo, festejar la apertura a la celebración navideña. Ya han pasado 393 años de la primera celebración del Día de Acción de Gracias en Estados Unidos; aquella fiesta de 3 días en la Colonia de Plymouth tiene una historia para recordar año tras año, pues la solidaridad y el agradecimiento son sus protagonistas. En aquella época, los colonos pasaron hambre durante el invierno, y después, en la primavera, los indígenas les enseñaron a sembrar alimentos, a pescar y a cazar. Este acto tuvo excelentes resultados, pues los colonos, durante el otoño, obtuvieron las mejores cosechas para abastecer su hambre. Ellos, agradecidos con los indígenas, los invitaron a compartir un delicioso banquete que incluía los alimentos que habían sembrado. Los estadounidenses anhelan esta fecha tan especial para celebrarla al lado de sus familiares, por eso durante la cena, priman los alimentos estacionales de temporada. Sabiendo que cada familia tiene diferentes gustos, el plato más tradicional es el famoso pavo asado, relleno de una mezcla de pan, finas hierbas y carne picada; acompañado de una exquisita salsa de arándanos. Es momento de disfrutar esta tradicional fiesta y compartir una calurosa cena en familia al lado de una copa de vino, comidas típicas y música navideña.

T
he story of The Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater began in 1950, when Golden Era Legends graced the stage of The Miami Beach Municipal Auditorium. Guests came from around the world to watch such shows as song and dance performances, comedy or even the occasional boxing match. Sometimes, the real performances were in the seats - Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope and Jack Benny were regular visitors to the auditorium and often caused quite a stirring. With the television boom in the 1960s, shows such as The Dick Clark Show, The Ed Sullivan Show and the Miss USA and Miss Universe Pageants were often filmed in the auditorium. In 1964, the city of Miami Beach offered Jackie Gleason the opportunity to film his show here. Mr. Gleason agreed to move his show to sunny Miami Beach, where he declared: “Miami Beach audiences are the greatest in the world!” In the 1970s, having been renovated by Morris Lapidus and renamed Miami Beach Theater of the Performing Arts, it became a regular stop for touring Broadway shows including: Gypsy (starring Angela Lansbury), Timbuktu (starring Eartha Kitt), Carousel (starring Robert Goulet), and West Side Story (starring Debbie Allen). Performing arts took center stage in the 1980s with memorable performances by pianist Vladimir Horowitz, 20

a historia de The Fillmore Miami Beach en el Jackie Gleason Theater comenzó en 1950, cuando Golden Era Legends adornaba el escenario del Auditorio Municipal Miami Beach. In 1987, the City of Miami Beach recognized Jackie Gleason’s contributions to the community by renaming the theater, The Jackie Gleason Theater of the Performing Arts. The 1990s saw the birth of the theater as both a great theatrical and performance center (Rent, Phantom of the Opera and Riverdance), as well as a concert hall - drawing such shows as Marc Anthony, El Puma and the Gypsy Kings, Tony Bennett, Liza Minelli, Seal, and Lenny Kravitz. In 2007, the theater was again reborn, undergoing a multimillion dollar transformation. Operated by Live Nation, the future of the music business, The Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater showcases the biggest names in live entertainment. Steeped in rock ‘n’ roll history while maintaining cultural relevance, our theater passionately combines the rich tradition of the Fillmore Experience with the energy and passion of Miami Beach.

She sounded off on October 16 at Aloft Miami Doral where she kept her cool performing the sultry sound of a CubanAmerican artist raised here in Miami. She joined us for the “100 Days of Music” countdown to our hundredth hotel opening. Paige Francis from our Starwood Corporate Office said: “It’s a hundred live acoustic performances at all of our hundred hotels around the world for the last 100 days of the year. We’re super excited. She is an amazing artist and we couldn’t be more happy to have such a phenomenal, emerging, exploding artist join us here at Aloft Miami Doral.

Habiendo hecho ya parte de los listados “Next Big Sound” de Billboard, Kat Dahlia se presentó el 16 de octubre en el Hotel Aloft Miami Doral, donde mantuvo su estilo fresco y el sonido sensual de una artista cubano-americana que creció en Miami. Ella se unió a nosotros para dar cuenta regresiva a la celebración de la apertura de nuestro hotel número 100 y nuestra celebración “100 Días de la Música”.
