HiPEAC futures HiPEAC Jobs, HiPEAC’s dedicated recruitment support service, has been going from strength to strength. Xavier Salazar (Barcelona Supercomputing Center) gives an overview of recent trends on the HiPEAC Jobs portal and explains how HiPEAC’s career mentoring services are helping both candidates and recruiters.
Inspiring futures for Europe’s best computer professionals Trends in computing systems jobs There have been 219 new job opportunities posted in the three months since the last HiPEACinfo was published – a remarkable number taking into account the summer months in between. This reflects the tendency shown in the European Jobs Monitor 2017 (bit.ly/European_Jobs_Monitor_17), which shows that ICT is the fastest growing employment sector right now. Within this sector, HiPEAC Jobs brings together the best opportunities in high-end advanced computing. Recently, HiPEAC Jobs has started to leverage the robust experience base of our community to organize career advice sessions. Many HiPEAC members are willing to share their experiences with the next generation of computer scientists, while some are on the lookout for new incorporations to their teams. HiPEAC’s first ‘Inspiring Futures!’ session was held at Computing Systems Week in Zagreb in collaboration with the career centre at the University of Zagreb’s Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing. Since then, further sessions have been held at the ACACES summer school and other events.
Career mentoring activities
Now major external organizations are also starting to see the
