Bella Cosa Jewelers open a second location. BY HINSDALE MAGAZINE STAFF

West suburban residents Amy and Joseph Molfese opened their first jewelry store in Willowbrook in 2000, and recently opened their second location on the North Shore in Wilmette. The location at 1149 Wilmette Ave. was the former Wilmette Jewelers, whose owners retired this year. The Bella Cosa owners saw an opportunity to serve their clientele from the city and north suburbs, and jumped at the chance of extending their service further. They took their attention-to-detail approach in custom jewelry, and renovated the 3,100-square-foot store to reflect its existing brand with impeccable attention to customer service. Hinsdale Magazine interviewed Joseph Molfese to talk about the company’s secret to longevity.
HM: What inspired you to start Bella Cosa Jewelers, and did your family’s jewelry background inspire you? JOSEPH MOLFESE:

before I started. I was working my own wholesale business when I met my wife. I did a lot of traveling at the time, and because I was getting married, it was best to set roots down in a community. The idea from the beginning was to be together and build something together.
HM: Why do you want to expand, and how did you choose your second location?
MOLFESE: Expanding to multiple locations is a natural progression for a successful business. When we heard that the owner of Wilmette Jewelers was retiring, we explored Wilmette, and got to know the community very well. We talked to our existing clients in Wilmette and the surrounding area, and they were very excited to see us come to their neighborhood.
