ASHLEIGH MCDONALD AIN & DIVERSIONAL THERAPIST

Hi, my name is Ashleigh, I'm an AIN and Diversional Therapist at HillView Care. I was born in Adelaide, to British parents who met and fell in love in Adelaide! I have two sisters: an older sister Georgina and younger sister Bethany. I also have a little furry sister, Willow the King Charles Cavalier, who is a HillView Care Pet Therapy Pup. Due to my Dad's work, we moved to the Gold Coast when I was younger, and we haven’t looked back!

At School, I enjoyed many subjects including Industrial

Skills and Sport. I played Goalie on my hockey team and was Captain of my cricket team. I also volunteered for School Musicals, and acted in the school productions 'Alice in Wonderland', and 'Beauty and the Beast'

Beyond the confines of the classroom and sports field, I was inclined toward caregiving from an early age From taking care of my cousins, to playing a vital role in my grandfather's recovery from a heart attack, I found fulfilment in nurturing and supporting others But it was through volunteering at a local Day Respite for seniors that I discovered my true passion for care I loved planning fun and engaging activities for the seniors, but ultimately experiencing the joy and laughter I could bring to their lives was the catalyst for me. So, it was volunteering that showed me the way to a rewarding career where I could make a meaningful difference in the lives of others

Kings Christian College offered me the opportunity to study a Diploma of Nursing concurrently with my year 11 and 12 studies The course helped prepare me for the challenges

Before commencing work at HillView Care, I worked in Home Care, a their day-to-day home tasks, and taking them out on social trips I've n at HillView Care for 3 years, and can often be found in the MCU or callin

As President and Secretary of the Mudgeeraba Lions Club, my parents h assisted HillView Care for the last couple of years, organising donations gifts bags for the residents

I love my job, fulfilling my care aspirations with a great team of staff and residents every day
