Founded in 1979, the Players are the oldest non-profit organization in town. The group’s mission is to provide first-class live theater and they do not disappoint! If you have the opportunity, catch a performance in the intimate Wimberley Playhouse. Productions in the spring/summer 2020 season includes “The Tin Woman” by Sean Grennan, “Sleuth” by Anthony Shaffer, and “Legally Blonde,” a musical by Heather Hatch. EmilyAnn Theatre & Gardens Bring a picnic, stroll the paths, play in the musical gardens or enjoy a game of chess or checkers on the oversized board at the EmilyAnn Theatre & Gardens. Or, hike to the top of the hill to Veterans Memorial Plaza, and enjoy 360-degree views around the Wimberley Valley. The EmilyAnn offers a wealth of family entertainment and theatre, and serves as a special place for remembrance of loved ones. Don’t miss the 22nd annual Butterfly Festival Saturday, April 18, where you can see more than 4,000 butterflies released throughout the day of fun. Attendees can enjoy crafts, games, bounce houses, wonderful food, live entertainment, an exotic butterfly flight house and much more. Admission to the festival is free, but donations are appreciated. Experience high flying fun on an action packed ride at Wimberley Zipline, as you soar over canyons and creeks with 15-mile views of the Wimberley Valley on a series of 10 zip line crossings. Tours last 1-1/2 to 2 hours. Admission is $90 per person, and includes parking, equipment, training, a guided walking tour, bottled water and the zipline adventure.
