High Point University has long understood that college should be the time for students to find their home away from home.

Over the past academic year, HPU students have filled the Qubein Arena for concerts and basketball games. They’ve enjoyed campus carnivals, a Winterfest celebration, complimentary weekly food trucks, an on-campus ice-skating rink and so much more.

These exciting and engaging events are more than just a fun peek into student life at HPU —they’re a reflection of HPU’s holistic approach to the entire academic journey and the belief that students should love where they live throughout their college experience.

HPU is continuously innovating campus to best suit students’ needs. The opening of 32 new student houses for 140 students, including an innovative new TINY HOME community, is a reflection of this.

Similarly and coming soon to HPU is PANTHER COMMONS, a housing complex complete with retail shops, a boutique food hall and a hibachi restaurant. On top of that, a 150,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art library and a 1,200-space parking garage are in the works! Did you know that all students at HPU are allowed to bring a car to campus beginning freshman year for no additional fee?

It’s all part of a $400 million expansion outlined in 2022. An expansion that includes the recently announced new schools of dental medicine, law, optometry, nursing and a proposed School of Entrepreneurship.

HPU’s innovation efforts do not stop at campus expansion and academic program growth. Since 2016, when HPU first launched the ACCESS TO INNOVATORS Program, more than 25 global leaders have joined Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak and Netflix Co-Founder Marc Randolph in visiting and mentoring students on campus. HPU continues to attract experts from all over the globe to work with students, allowing these industry game changers to equip students with skills to make significant and powerful contributions to the world.
