Students will walk in form groups supervised by their tutors and Highfields staff. We will be setting off from Starkholmes at 9am and returning to school for 3.20pm.

Full details have been issued to parents/carers of lower site students.

Year 9 & 10 parent consultation evenings

We are now conducting all parent consultation evenings virtually via Weduc software. Our next evenings for year 9 and year 10 parents/carers will take place on the following dates:

Year 9 - 22 June 2021 from 4-7pm Year 10 – 6 July 2021 from 4-7pm

Our year 9 parent consultation event appointments are now live and will remain open for parents/carers to book 5min slots with subject staff until Sunday 20 June at 4pm. Year 10 parents/carers will be sent booking details nearer the time.

If you have not already done so, please download, register and log into Weduc in order to be able to arrange appointments with your child’s subject teachers to review and discuss their progress.

Summer exam results days 2021

A level and GCSE results will be published on the following days:

A levels – Tuesday 10 August 2021 from 8am GCSEs – Thursday 12 August 2021 from 8.30am

Students collecting results should report to the Wheeldon Hall from the times stated above on the morning results are published. If a student is unable to come into school to collect their results, they can send a nominated person to collect results on their behalf providing they have a signed letter from the student giving permission to pick up their results.

As a last resort, for students who are away and where there is no other person to collect results for them, we can send results to the student via email. If you need to use this facility it is important that an email is sent from the email address you wish the results to be sent to. Please inform exams@highfields.derbyshire.sch.uk as soon as possible. The email address should belong to the student, rather than a parent/carer, due to privacy laws.

Secondary School Food Survey 2021

Derbyshire County Council’s catering team are conducting a school food survey with students and staff across all the secondary schools they serve.

Details have been sent to students (via their school email) and to staff to respond. Feedback will help the catering team plan future menus, improve their service and ensure their offer is fresh and relevant for the whole school community.

Responses are required before the end of the summer term in order to have time to review and develop their menus over the summer holiday.

Parents/carers dropping off and collecting students

We would like to remind parents/carers that students should be dropped off and collected outside of the school site in the mornings and at the end of the school day. Parents/carers should not enter or park in the school car park allocated for staff and visitors or bus bays allocated for school transport.

We are always keen to be good neighbours and to protect the safety of all pedestrians and road users. With this in mind please exercise care and consideration during busy times and take care not to block driveways or to use private car parks of local businesses.

Reminder – Starkholmes (lower school) site is a peanut free site

A reminder that our Starkholmes site is a peanut free site as a student at lower school has a severe peanut allergy. Strict avoidance of peanut products is the only way to prevent a life-threatening allergic reaction requiring emergency medical treatment.

Parents/carers are asked not to send any peanut or products containing peanuts or nuts for students to eat at any time in any area of the school. Your support is much appreciated.
