Sports Leaders UK update

Highfields School was invited to be one of a few selected centres to pilot the skills tracker and become a Skills Tracker Pioneer.

The skills tracker is used with students completing their Sports Leaders qualifications and is a webbased self-reflection tool to monitor development of confidence in five key personal skills:  Communication  Self-belief  Self-management  Problem solving  Teamwork

Mrs Allen met with Sports Leaders UK earlier this week to report back on its success.

Primary school visits

On Tuesday 25 May, Mr Molyneux and Mrs Allen visited Winster and Lea Primary Schools. Students took part in multi-skills at Winster Primary School and year 5 and 6 students from Lea Primary School had the opportunity to use Lea Green’s facilities to play cricket.

Y9 Girls Football Project

Y9 girls were involve in the girls football project on Wednesday.

Voice of Sport

The Voice of Sport group met via Zoom to discuss the May opportunities and the final term ahead.

National School Sport Week from YST

How do you fancy organising some fun sporting activities this summer?

National School Sport Week is back! This year the theme is Together Again to celebrate the lifting of restrictions and a return to some kind of normality after an extremely difficult year.

Taking place from 19-25 June, the week will give families, communities, schools and sports clubs the opportunity to get active and put on some events that everyone can take part in. Some fantastic easy to follow resources have been created, full of ideas for activities that you can do to bring the people around you closer together.
