5 May was the launch of the FA girls leadership programme.

Primary sports activity programme
Mrs Allen and Mr Molyneux had a planning day for the summer term sports activity programme on Thursday for primary schools. This summer term is very different to our usual activities due to Covid. In previous years the primary schools visit Highfields and join our sports leader led sessions, but this is not possible at the moment, so Mrs Allen and Mr Molyneux are visiting primary schools to deliver activities in class bubbles. Activities selected are athletics, rounders, kwik cricket, ball skills, multiskills, orienteering and dance. The planning day enabled Mrs Allen and Mr Molyneux to visit the orienteering school to plan the event and our activities for other schools.
Cricket news
England women’s star and cricket coach, Lydia Greenway, visited Highfields to coach our year 9 girls at Darley Dale Cricket Club for the annual girls cricket day on 5 May.
Mrs Allen, Mr Shirtcliffe and Mrs Wildgoose met virtually with Derbyshire coach, Charlie Storr, to finalise the plans for girls cricket after May half term and then completed their level 2 coaching qualification with England coach Lydia Greenway.
