Parent/carer update
from Issue 27
Sixth form work experience
High quality work experience can make a huge difference to a student's outlook and motivation. We do not always have the opportunities and immediate contacts that some students are looking for, so we are asking for help from parents/carers.

The areas which sixth form students have asked for where we need more placements are listed below: Law Health Performing Arts/Music Fire, Police, Public Services Marketing Public Relations Engineering Prosthetics Scientific opportunities
If you think you know of an opportunity and can provide school with a contact, we would be very grateful (we would also be interested in good opportunities, even if they are not in the list). Please contact Rachel Sargeant if you are able to help rsargeant@highfields.derbyshire.sch.uk.
Many thanks, Sixth Form Team
Uniform Donations
As we approach the summer term we are asking for donations of old Highfields uniform that you do not intend to pass down within families. We are looking for: Blazers Ties Trousers
We intend to offer these items for sale to other families with all monies received going to a chosen charity. If you would like to donate old items that are clean and still in good condition, please drop these into reception at either site.
Further details about the purchasing of donated uniform will be made available over the coming weeks.
Junk Food
Following two recent incidents where students’ health and safety were compromised, we have made the decision to ban lollipops and candy sprays from both school sites.
Please remind your child that they are not to purchase these items to bring into school and if they choose to do so, the items will be confiscated if seen on school sites.
