The students were required to prepare a session to deliver and then evaluate the delivery in the session and their next task continued today (28 January) as they progressed the sports.

Our year 10 students were fabulous in the engagement and the year 12/13 leaders as ever, stepped up to the mark with engaging delivery.

‘Game On’ Football Programme

Mrs Allen was involved in a teachers’ session for the Game On football programme on Wednesday. Following this our year 9 football girls will be involved in a National Zoom session on Wednesday 9 February, where they will prepare sessions for the National Day of Girls football in March on the allweather pitch at Highfields.

2022 Primary Schools Well-being Day

On Thursday (27 January) the primary schools well-being day took place at Highfields in the sports hall. We welcomed children from Elton, Winster, Tansley, St Joseph’s, Darley Dale, Lea and Wessington primaries.

The visiting coaches involved in this fantastic day were Kim Robinson (Zumba coach), Paul White (self-defence coach), Highfields sports leaders and the Outspoken Cycling Company. Students kept fit and active with fun sessions around healthy eating.

Voice of Sport

The voice of sport group met today for their January meeting. The focus of the meeting was on preparatory work for the upcoming ambassador assemblies in our feeder primary schools during February to April.

Derbyshire Dales Cross Country Championships

On Saturday several of our students represented Derbyshire Dales in the County Cross Country Championships.

As ever they all did us proud and didn't give up. There was some excellent running from all involved.

A massive thank you to all students and parents/carers who gave up their Saturday morning to join us.

We are Highfields!
