Reminder: Year 11 virtual parent consultation evening appointments
A reminder that the year 11 parent consultation takes place on Tuesday 1 February from 4-7pm. The appointment system is open and will remain active to book appointments until 11.55pm on Monday 31 January. The virtual parents’ evenings are conducted via School Cloud through the Weduc app. If you have not yet registered/downloaded Weduc, please do so as soon as possible to enable you to make an appointment with your child’s subject teachers to review/discuss their progress. The system allows appointments with both parents/carers of a student that school holds details for. Appointments can be made by logging on to the Weduc app, clicking on ‘resources hub’ then ‘parents evening’. Please ensure that your video and microphone are compatible with the software.
You only have five minutes with each teacher. The call automatically ends at the end of the five minutes and teachers do not have the ability to change this. With this in mind, teachers have been asked to make sure they summarise the main information that you need to know in the time that you have. They will tell you what your son / daughter needs to work on to maximise the progress they can make in the remaining time at school

Catch-up programme for Y10 & Y11 students Teenage Booster (DTP) & Meningococcal ACWY (MEN ACWY) vaccinations
Due to the disruption caused by the pandemic there has been a decreased uptake of the year 9 vaccinations in the last two years. The NHS Immunisation Team want to ensure that all students are protected and have the opportunity to be vaccinated before they leave school.
If your child has missed the routine year 9 vaccinations (Teenage Booster and Meningitis ACWY) and you have not previously completed a consent form, please follow the link below. If a completed consent form is received the NHS team will aim to see your child on the same day as the planned year 9 session in school takes place on 8 February. However, if this is not possible you will be sent a link from the NHS to book an appointment at a local clinic.
Please visit https://www.derbyshireandcityimms.co.uk/Forms/DTP to complete the consent form. Highfields School’s unique code is DD112950.

Second dose Covid-19 vaccination (for all 12-15 year olds)
Following national guidance, the NHS Immunisation Team are offering the second dose of Covid-19 vaccinations to young people aged 12 – 15 and they will be continuing to use the e-consent as with other vaccine programmes. The team are also able to offer the first dose in school if your child hasn’t yet received a vaccination.
Children must be 12 on the day of vaccination. Please complete the consent regardless of whether you have completed one previously. The Immunisation Team will only use newly completed forms.
There must be a gap of 12 weeks (84 days) between first and second doses. If there isn’t then your child will be refused vaccination on the day. Please only consent if your child will be eligible. There must also be a gap of 12 weeks between Covid infection and vaccination. If your child contracts Covid after completing the form or receives their vaccine elsewhere, please let the team know so they can remove them from their list.
Please visit https://www.derbyshireandcityimms.co.uk/Forms/CovidDose2 to complete the consent form. Highfield School’s unique school code is DD112950. Date in school: 15 February 2022. If possible, please make sure your child is wearing short sleeves and eats breakfast on the day of vaccination.
Please be aware that due to storage requirements of the vaccine the team will need to know the number of vaccines needed in advance. Therefore, the consent system will close two working days prior to the session at 9am. If your school session is on a Monday, the form will close the Thursday before and schools on Tuesday will close on Friday. The team are unable to add extra forms once it has closed.
