School of Rock theatre visit

On Wednesday 17 November students from year 7 had the opportunity to see Andrew Lloyd Webber’s West End and Broadway hit musical School of Rock at Nottingham Royal Concert Hall.

School of Rock is based on the movie starring Jack Black. Wannabe rock star Dewey Finn is cast out by his dive-bar bandmates and finds himself in desper ate need of cash. Posing as a substitute music teacher at an elite prep school, he exposes his students to the rock gods he idolises, transforming them into a mindblowing rock band.

All 46 Highfields students had a wonderful time, they were buzzing from start to finish, and for many of them it was their first opportunity to see a live musical. They were amazed at the talented students performing alongside Dewey Finn and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.

Miss Hendry commented on the impeccable behaviour of the students throughout the evening, with many of them now looking forward to more opportunities to see live performances.
