ANIMAL AC TO R S H AV E RIGHTS TOO It's a familiar credit you have seen countless times on the end of movies: “No animals were harmed.” But to earn that assurance, a film using animals has to earn the approval of the American Humane Association which, since 1940, has monitored films to ensure the safety and welfare of the animals. Certified safety representatives oversee animals on the set, making sure the association’s guidelines are followed and providing support on how to do so. 42
