Around the campus
AROUND THE CAMPUS Building a better future.

Generous philanthropic gifts from grateful patients and other members of our community make it possible for us to carry out important improvements that are essential to the future of great care at Huntington Hospital.
In recent months, we have made significant progress on several ambitious projects, including construction of a new cardiovascular center, enhancements to our surgical suites and upgrades to other healthcare facilities. While we experienced some minor delays due to COVID-19, construction work has continued during the pandemic, and some projects are now complete.
We recently finished updates to our Wingate and Hahn buildings, which required seismic upgrades in order for 75 essential inpatient
beds housed there to remain in service. Moving forward, we anticipate concluding work on our new cardiovascular center by the end of February 2021 and look forward to welcoming patients to the facility soon after that.
Construction of our upgraded surgery center will be carried out in two phases: New surgery suites will be built out by April 2021. Upgrades to existing suites will then commence — with this second phase scheduled to be concluded by September 2021.
The completion of these projects will mark the beginning of a new chapter in exceptional care for our region. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to build for the future of high-quality health care.

Facilities upgrades now underway are helping prepare us for the future of care. Above: Azhil (Alex) Durairaj, MD, medical director of cardiology, looks in on construction at our new cardiovascular center, scheduled for completion in early 2021.
