A taste of THONGLOR
Bangkok’s Thonglor precinct is a delicious drawcard for MasterChef alumna turned food entrepreneur Marion Grasby A finalist on season two of MasterChef Australia, Marion Grasby quickly became a firm favourite with fans of the show. After the show ended, she went on to publish cook books and filmed a TV series, Marion’s Thailand, for Foxtel, but her biggest project has

been Marion’s Kitchen, an internationally successful range of gourmet Thai food products using family recipes and authentic ingredients. The business began in her Australian kitchen with then fiancé, now husband, Tim Althaus, in 2010, but in 2012 the
couple moved to Bangkok to be closer to the brand’s key suppliers. Marion’s Thai heritage ensures she is at home in Thailand’s buzzing capital. “It’s the South-East Asian version of New York,” she says. Thonglor is one of her favourite Bangkok hangouts. “Thonglor
means ‘golden alley’ and it’s where the Chinese merchants used to sell gold. It’s a hot pocket of authentic local and international food, and it’s where I spend most of my eating and drinking time.” marionskitchen.com
