Meters and Gauges
Torque Converter Oil Temperature Gauge
[NOTICE]
◆ When the gauge needle reaches the yellow zone, decrease load and travel while paying attention to the oil pressure.
When the needle reaches the red zone, oil temperature is too high. Stop the vehicle in a safe location and idle the engine to lower the oil temperature.
This gauge indicates the temperature of the torque converter oil. When traveling, the needle should be in the green zone.
Water Temperature Gauge
[NOTICE]
◆ The engine may overheat if the gauge needle reaches the red zone. Stop the vehicle in a safe place and idle the engine to lower the water temperature.
However, if the radiator fan is not running, stop the engine immediately. After the engine has cooled down, examine and locate the cause of trouble.
This gauge indicates the temperature of the engine cooling water. When traveling, the gauge needle should be in the green or white zone.
Speedometer
The speedometer indicates the travel speed. Tachometer
Air Pressure Gauge
A drop in air pressure for the air brakes, below the specified range, is dangerous as it reduces air brake performance. When the air pressure drops below the specified range, the air pressure warning lamp lights and the alarm buzzer sounds. Immediately stop the vehicle in a safe location. Shift into Neutral and rev the engine to increase air pressure.
This gauge indicates the air pressure in the air tank.
If the pointer is in the red zone, the engine may overheat and an alarm buzzer may sound. Immediately slow the vehicle down using the brake. When traveling down a long grade, pay special attention to the engine speed.
This meter indicates the number of engine revolutions per minute. The hour meter, incorporated in the tachometer, indicates the total number of hours the engine has been operating. Perform inspection and maintenance work on the basis of the displayed hours.
Fuel Gauge
This gauge indicates the amount of fuel remaining in the fuel tank.
The tank is full.

Turn Signal Indicator Lamps
The right or left turn signal indicator lamp flashes in sync with the exterior turn signal lamp.
◆ The flashing interval changes if the turn signal lamp blows or a lamp with improper wattage is used.
◆ Pressing the hazard switch causes the right and left indicator lamps to flash simultaneously.

10. Exhaust brake indicator lamp
11. Four-wheel steering indicator lamp
12. Lock up indicator lamp
13. Low travel speed indicator lamp
14. Four-wheel drive indicator lamp
15. Torque converter oil pressure warning lamp
16. MDT fault warning lamp
Brake Warning Lamp
WARNING
If this lamp is illuminated when traveling, the brake fluid may be leaking or the disk brake lining may be worn out. Immediately stop in a safe location and check the brake fluid for leakage and the brake lining for wear.
This lamp comes on when the brake fluid level in the reservoir has dropped. It also lights when the parking brake is activated.
High Beam Indicator Lamp
This lamp is illuminated when the headlights are on high beam. This lamp is off when the headlights are on low beam.
Engine Oil Pressure Warning Lamp
[NOTICE]
◆ Continued traveling while this lamp is illuminated may cause the engine to overheat. If this lamp comes on when the engine is running, stop the engine and check the engine oil level. If the oil level is low, add oil.
If the oil level is ok, there is some other problem. Have the nearest TADANO distributor or dealer check the crane.
This lamp comes on when engine oil pressure is low.
◆ When starting the engine, this lamp comes on after the starter is turned to ON and goes out after the engine has started.
Battery Charging Warning Lamp
[NOTICE]
◆ Continued traveling while this lamp is illuminated will drain the battery. When this lamp comes on with the engine running, there is a failure in the battery charging system. Have the nearest TADANO distributor or dealer check the problem.
This lamp comes on when the battery is incorrectly charged.
◆ When starting the engine, this lamp comes on when the starter is turned to ON and goes out when the engine starts.
Air Pressure Warning Lamp
This lamp comes on when the air pressure in the air tank drops below the specified range. At the same time, an alarm buzzer sounds to alert the operator.
PTO/Travel Speed Warning Lamp
Warning
Traveling on roads with the PTO switch ON is dangerous, as the crane may start operating when a lever or switch is moved unexpectedly. When traveling on public roads, be sure that the PTO switch is OFF.
This lamp flashes to alert the operator if the traveling speed has exceeded 2.5 mph (4 km/h) with the PTO switch ON.
Suspension Lock Indicator Lamp
This lamp comes on when the PTO switch is turned ON and also when the boom comes out of within-2°-over front area.
Rear Steering Center Indicator Lamp
Warning
Attempting to travel on the public road under two-wheel steering mode while the rear steering center indicator lamp is on is a dangerous practice. Then the rear wheels are not in straightrunning positions. Before performing two-wheel steering, make sure that this indicator is off and then lock the rear traveling wheels.
This lamp comes on when the rear wheels are not in straight running position.
Exhaust Brake Indicator Lamp
This lamp comes on when the combination switch on the left side is pulled backward. The lamp goes out when the switch is restored.
Four-wheel Steering Indicator lamp
This lamp comes on when the vehicle is in the fourwheel coordinated steering mode or crab steering mode, and goes out when it is in the two-wheel steering traveling mode.
◆ When traveling on public roads using two-wheel steering, make sure that this lamp is not illuminated.
Lock Up Indicator Lamp
This lamp comes on when torque converter lock-up is engaged.
In descending a slope, engine braking effect goes up if traveling with this lock up indicator lamp on by making proper shift changes in accordance with the road inclination.
◆ When the drive mode select switch is in a Lo speed, the lock-up device will not be engaged.
Low Travel Speed Indicator Lamp
This lamp comes on when the low-speed four-wheel drive mode is set by placing the drive mode select switch in 4-WHEEL(Lo).
Four-wheel Drive Indicator Lamp
This lamp comes on when four-wheel drive mode is set by placing the drive mode select switch in 4-WHEEL(Lo) or 4-WHEEL(Hi).
Torque Converter Oil Pressure Warning Lamp
[NOTICE]
◆ Traveling with the torque converter oil pressure warning lamp on will cause damage to the torque converter. If this lamp goes on while the engine is running, stop the engine and check for the quantity of torque converter oil. If short, add more. If the quantity is enough, there are some other causes. Have the machine checked by the nearest TADANO authorized distributor or dealer.
This lamp goes on when the torque converter oil pressure goes below the specification. At the same time alarm buzzer sounds.
MDT Fault Warning Lamp
[NOTICE]
◆ When the MDT fault warning lamp is on, automatic gear shifting cannot be performed. If this lamp lights in traveling, stop traveling and press the multiplex data transmitter system check switch. If failure code has not gone out from the display window, there are other trouble causes. Confirm the failure code and have the machine checked by the nearest TADANO authorized distributor or dealer.
◆ In order to drive the machine to a safe place for servicing, snap the emergency transmission switch on the multiplex data transmitter to the “ON” position. Shifting can then be done manually. See “If Shifting Gears is Impossible”, page 45, for details.
This lamp goes on when the multiplex data transmitter system has troubles on.
