Hand Pallet Lift Truck Rating

The weight of the load must be within the hand pallet lift truck’s permitted lifting capacity. For load weight and lifting capacity rate, see Figure1 . For serial number and manufacturing date, see Figure2 .

NOTE

If any plate and/or decal becomes unreadable, it must be replaced. Contact your supervisor or local authorized Raymond Dealer for a replacement.

The neutral position disengages the pump from the lifting mechanism. This frees the handle, which makes pulling loads much easier. Also, the pump is not being subjected to shock pressures while the hand pallet lift truck is in motion.

Operating Instructions WARNING

! To avoid the risk of injuring fingers, do not place fingers under any part of the hand pallet lift truck while the hand pallet lift truck is in motion. During the daily operation check, do not place your fingers under the foot pedal while carrying out the daily checks. For maximum operating efficiency, follow these instructions: ( Refer to Figure3. )

•To raise the load, push down on the fingertip control. Pump the handle to raise the load from the floor.

•To lower the load, pull up on the fingertip control. For free handle movement, place the fingertip control in the neutral position.

•For free handle movement, place the fingertip control in the neutral position.

If your hand pallet lift truck is equipped with a parking brake, obey the following warning: ( Refer to Figure4. )

To avoid the risk of being injured when using a hand pallet lift truck equipped with a parking brake, use extreme care around protruding parts, especially in a confined area.

NOTE

To avoid the risk of tripping, care should be taken to observe the parking brake’s protruding cable.

Models RJ50, RJ50-SS, RJ50-K, and RJ50-PB

• Ensure there are no defects in the hydraulic system that may cause accidental lowering.

• When lowering, ensure that no other person is in the immediate area of the hand pallet lift truck.

• Never place your hands on the tow bar’s protective clamps (1) while in a confined area. Keep your hands on the tow bar’s handle (2).

After applying the parking brake, check to ensure the steering mechanism is locked. This will assure you that the hand pallet lift truck has been properly parked.To adjust tension on the parking brake, use an allen wrench to turn the adjustment screw (found on the parking brake) clockwise. (Refer to Figure4 on page7 .)

• Do not place your hands between the tow bar (3) and the tow bar bracket (4).

• Do not place your hands between the top cap (5) and the top nut (6).

Handling The Load WARNING

Always wear safety shoes, safety glasses, and heavy-duty gloves when working with a hand pallet lift truck.

Never use the hand pallet lift truck as a scooter. The hand pallet lift truck is used only to transport loads.
