Rear axle, checking the chain tension

General instructions

• Secure the machine as described under

“Securing the machine”. • Place receptacles for waste oil under the drain plugs. For the required capacity of this vessel, see “Filling quantities - Oil”.

Differential/side reducer gears

- Unscrew the drain plug (2, Fig. 4); the oil flows out. - Screw drain plug back in place with a new sealing ring. - Fill in new gearbox oil as described under

“Rear axle, checking the oil levels”. For oil grade and quantity see “Filling quantities - Oil”.

Read and observe: “Inspection and servicing, safety instructions”.

Check the chain tension in the tandem (chain case) as per the servicing plan.

- Unscrew both drain plugs (6, Fig. 5); the oil flows out. - Screw drain plugs back in place with a new sealing rings. - Fill in new gearbox oil as described under

“Rear axle, checking the oil levels”. For oil grade and quantity see “Filling quantities - Oil”.

Fig. 6 • Remove both covers (7, Fig. 6). • Raise the rear axle until the rear wheels are clear of the ground. • Place squared timber under the axle to prevent it from lowering. • Pull up the chains through the cover opening. If they contact the housing (8), they must be retensioned.
