Danger of explosion
Never use white spirit, paraffin or other solvents to clean the tank. Highly inflammable, explosive gases are formed. Therefore use only diesel fuel or a special-purpose cleaning oil to clean the tank. Observe the instructions issued by the manufacturer of the cleaning oil.
Be sure to prevent fuel and cleaning oil from seeping into the ground. Keep for reuse or dispose in accordance with local environmental regulations.
• Run the machine until the fuel tank is almost empty. • Check how much fuel is left in the tank and place an adequately large receptacle below the drain plug of the tank. • Drain off diesel fuel at the drain plug (Fig. 2). Use the oil-drainage hose for this. See “Draining hose for oil changes”. • Place a receptacle below the plug to catch the cleaning fluid. • Unscrew tank cap (4, Fig. 3) • Remove filler strainer. • Clean tank cap (4) and filler strainer thoroughly with diesel fuel.
Fig. 3 • Clean and flush tank with a cleaning device. • When the cleaning fluid has drained off: - Unscrew oil draining hose, screw protective cap onto drain plug. • Insert filler strainer in filler tube. • Fill fuel through filler strainer in filler tube.
